Recently, the Tamil Movie Artists Association, named as Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) has passed an ultimatum to Tamil Industry producers that from now only Tamil artists should be employed in Tamil movies. This has led to a wide debate among the fans and moviegoers because when Tamil actors are presented in almost every major film industry in India, how could they pass a resolution like this for Kollywood’s well-being? Pawan Kalyan was the only big hero to respond to this until now. He requested the Tamil film federation to change the rules.
Pawan Kalyan mentioned that Tamil artists should break out of this narrow thought process and think beyond boundaries during the ‘Bro’ movie pre-release event. “Bro movie is crafted by a Tamilian Samuthrikani, has cinematography by Keralite Sujith Vasudevan, it featured North Indian girl Urvashi Rautela, and dresses were designed by Pakistani origin Neeta Lulla. Only if people from all the regions join forces, great films will be made”, said Pawan Kalyan, asking Tamil artists to rethink their decision.
“Don’t get into that narrow thinking; blur boundaries and make great films like RRR. AM Ratnam is a Telugu guy who made movies like Roja and Gentleman for you, and took your industry to a new high”, he further added. “An artist should not have caste, creed and religion, but think beyond that”, said Pawan Kalyan on a closing note. It’s a bold move by Pawan Kalyan to say this, and his words could cause hurt to many FEFSI members. We should see how they would respond to the remarks of Pawan Kalyan.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan expressed gratitude to Samuthirakani for learning how to read Telugu for directing the film, BRO. He also promised that he will learn how to read Tamil very soon and give a speech in Tamil.
