Pareshan, despite being a small movie has managed to evoke some interest largely due to the involvement of Rana who has presented this film. It also starts Thiruveer whose last outing- Masooda emerged as a massive hit in Tollywood. While these factors are good to give the film some buzz, does Pareshan have enough to entertain the audience? Let’s find out.

Story: Isaac (Thiruveer) is a student residing in the Singareni area. A typical youngster who likes fooling around with his other friends, he is often chided by his father (Muralidhar Goud). Isaac lends money to his friend for some urgent need which the friends fail to repay. What path does Isaac take to satisfy his need for money and the misadventures that follow is what the movie follows.

Analysis: Pareshan explores the lives of youngsters and their reactions when faced with unfavourable situations. The film follows some stereotypical tropes used in some recent films based in rural Telangana. The unnecessary drinking scenes, illogical romantic track, and cliched scenes hamper the movie badly. On the other hand, it has some redeeming moments in the form of comedy in parts and Thiruveer’s performance. Apart from that, there isn’t much for the audience in this half-baked comedy.

Plus Points:

  • Thiruveer
  • Some comedy scenes

Minus Points:

  • Cliched narration
  • Predictable screenplay
  • No interesting moments
  • Lead pair’s track

Verdict

Pareshan has joined the club of movies that have been released in the recent past with the objective of exploring Telangana culture. The director tries to take the tried and tested route and shows the same old comedy of errors laced with alcoholism laced with utter lack of logic. It’s high time the young directors realize that stories rooted in Telangana culture are about much more than just alcohol, mutton, and a bunch of friends going berserk.
