Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi was released in theaters for this Pongal with a huge advantage and opened well at the box office. But due to mixed word of mouth, and at the same time, Jiiva’s film received better feedback, and the collections of Parasakthi were impacted.
Parasakthi performing poorly in theaters
After 9 days of its run, the film’s total collections stand at only ₹78 crore, with around ₹50 crore from Tamil Nadu and ₹28 crore gross from ROI and ROW. This is definitely a very poor performance for the film.
Forget about the earlier expectations of ₹200 crore or ₹150 crore. Now, Parasakthi is struggling even to cross the ₹100 crore mark in collections. Sivakarthikeyan’s last film, Madharaasi, somehow managed to just cross ₹100 crore, but for Parasakthi, it seems to be a big struggle.
Parasakthi, directed by Sudha Kongara, features Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, and Atharvaa in lead roles, with Sreeleela as Ratnamala, telling a story about the anti-Hindi imposition movement; the film’s music has been composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar and it was produced by Aakash Baskaran and Sudha Kongara under Dawn Pictures.
