Vidaamuyarchi not releasing for Pongal

Vidaamuyarchi is not releasing for Pongal. It is now official that Ajith Kumar’s upcoming action film, Vidaamuyarchi has been postponed from Pongal 2025. The film’s production house, Lyca Productions, announced the news on their official social media account.

Ajith’s fans will be disappointed with this news, and the production also apologized for the delay in the film’s release, and they stated unavoidable circumstances for the postponement. Vidaamuyarchi was slated for 2025 Pongal/Sakrnathi festival release, but the delay in the promotional activities made everyone doubt and now it is official. Ram Charan and Shankar’s Game Changer will be the only biggie for the festival now, and as  Vidaamuyarchi is not releasing for Pongal, we should see how it will use the advantage of being the only big movie in Tamil.

Vidaamuyarch is directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Apart from Ajith Kumar and Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Arav, Regina Cassandra, and Ramya Subramanian also star in the film. The film’s team shot a major portion of the film in Azerbaijan. Aniriudh Ravichander is the film’s music director.

The Bollywood director in a recent media interaction made some serious comments on the functioning of the Bollywood industry. The director accused the Bollywood heroes of trying to become stars and not better actors. He said that everything in Bollywood is about marketing and nobody wants to become a better actor. The entitlement of these actors has created a tough situation for many to work in the industry.

Shockingly, Anurag Kashyap added that he is “disappointed and disgusted” with his industry and will be shifting his base to southern India to do some stimulating work.

Vamsi also claimed that Bollywood was deeply affected by the massive success of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’. He stated that the whole of Mumbai would not have slept when Allu Arjun’s film collected over Rs 80 crore in a single day. Becuase of the way he spoke, an uproar from the Bollywood media was seen on social media, lecturing him on how to respect senior filmmakers.

However, Naga Vamsi did not kept quite and gave a strong reply to a Bollywood Critic on social media. He stated no one needs to teach him any lesson about respecting elders, along with saying that he and Boney Kapoor had a healthy discussion during the roundtable. Game Changer and Daaku Maharaaj are gearing up for Sankranthi season next year. For Game Changer the team is planning 1 AM shows in AP and the team has also applied for ₹600 as ticket price including the GST. Daaku Maharaaj is also gearing up for 4 AM shows with ₹500 as ticket price including GST. This is too big for the films.

For the later shows, team of Game Changer has applied ₹135 for Single Screens and ₹180 for Multiplexes. When it comes to Daaku Maharaaj, the hike will be ₹110 for Single Screens and ₹135 for Multiplexes including GST. The other Sankranthi release, Sankranthiki Vasthunam will have no mid night release and the team applied ₹75 for single screens and ₹100 for Multiplexes.

Bollywood Reacts to Naga Vamsi’s Comments. Producer Naga Vamsi’s satirical remarks against Bollywood seem to have sparked a row of controversy. Recently, Senior Hindi Producer Boney Kapoor and Telugu producer Naga Vamsi took part in a producers’ roundtable by Galatta Plus and discussed Bollywood vs South Films. During the discussion, Naga Vamsi talked about how Hindi cinema has reinvented itself due to the popularity of films made in the South which led to a heated argument between him and Boney. Bollywood Director Sanjay Gupta and the other media handles are now condemning the way Naga Vamsi spoke with Boney Kapoor.

Vamsi interrupted Boney during the roundtable and said, “One thing, sir, you have to accept this. It might sound really harsh. We, South Indians, have changed the way you [Bollywood] look at cinema. Because, you guys [Bollywood], were stuck in making films for Bandra and Juhu. You witnessed a change with Baahubali, RRR, Animal, and Jawan.”

Boney Kapoor disagreed with Vamsi and said, “In this forum, we can’t be talking about every bit of knowledge we know. We need to talk in broader terms. When I say Mughal-E-Azam, Baahubali, and all that, it’s not that I’ve missed out on other films. I know those films. At the tip of my fingers, I can rattle out those names. But, it’s nothing like Telugu cinema has taught Indians. I don’t believe that. It was always there. Even the hero (Allu Arjun) of Pushpa 2 said that he is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan. He could have said that he was a big fan of NT Rama Rao.”

When it comes to success rate, Anil Ravipudi ranks quite high amongst his peers in the industry. Despite having a great success rate and blockbusters with big stars, his movies have faced quite some criticism on social media and have even been termed cringe comedies.

Mohanlal delivers Mollywood’s biggest disaster. Barroz, the latest Malayalam film is the debut directorial film of the big star Mohanlal. The film was made on a huge budget and was on sets for a very longer time with because of the continuous reshoots. Also it was made with 3D technology. The production team member officially confirmed that the movie budget was around 150 Cr.

But the movie received disastrous numbers at the box office. For the first five days, the film has just collected 14.5 Cr gross worldwide and the closing will be less than 30 Cr Gross, which indicates that the final share will be less than 15 Cr. It means the movie collected just 10% of the budget. The trade is also in shock as Mohanlal delivers Mollywood’s biggest disaster with Barroz.

Even though the film gets some numbers because of non-theatrical and digital, satellite rights, those numbers will not be even the 1/3rd of the budget. So the movie will certainly face the biggest loss in Mollywood’s history.

Trivikram faced massive criticism for Guntur Kaaram even though the movie did average numbers at the box offie. Trivikram was criticised for making a weak content film and some even compared the film with Agnyatavaasi. However, Mahesh Babu got appreciation for the film’s box office potential and his performance.

The same happend with Devara as well. Director Koratala siva faced the heat while NTR received appreciation for his perfomance and his box office potential, as the film became a blockbuster in Telugu and achieved pan India wide success.

Sukumar receives a great amount of appreciation for his films. However, for the first time he was criticised by the Telugu people for delivering a regular mass commercial film with Pushpa 2. Many felt that the film was made without proper story and emotion, But Allu Arjun received very big name for his performance and the film also went on to create many box office records and he emerged as one of the biggest star in Indian Cinema

So, all the star directors are under fire, while the Heroes shine at the Box Office in 2024 with their charisma and acting potential.
