Nani’s Court State vs. A Nobody has become the talk of the town in Tollywood. The film was made on a 10 Cr budget, and it collected 8.1 Cr gross on its opening day. The solid opening of the film at the box office shocked everyone. Court proves that good content draws audiences to the theaters.

Even many medium-budget films, which are made on a budget of more than 50 Cr, are also failing to achieve such openings in recent times. The audiences proved once again that budget does not matter to them, and only good content matters.

If the content is good, then they are ready to come to the theaters. Nani’s brand has definitely helped a lot to create anticipation for the Court movie and pre-release buzz; promotional content and paid premieres/FDFS reviews took it to this level.

One good thing from the makers of the film is that they have officially released the actual collections. Normally, a lot of producers exaggerate the numbers a bit for the sake of publicity, but Nani released a genuine collections poster, which we can very rarely see.

Moreover, another good sign for the film is that day 2 advance bookings are 20% higher than day 1. So, day 2 is expected to be bigger than day 1, and tomorrow being Sunday, it will be the biggest day for the film at the box office.

But in Telugu it worked big and ended up being the career biggest grosser for Naga Chaitanya and gave him a comeback. However, Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel fails to connect beyond the Telugu audience in its OTT release.

For producers also, the film was a safe venture as it gathered very good theatrical numbers in Telugu and very good non-theatrical business as well. But the movie would have been a big profitable venture if it had clicked in Hindi, but with no support from other languages, it just managed to be a safe venture.

Non-Telugu Audiences didn’t like Thandel

Many films that do not work theatrically get the deserved appreciation when they arrive on OTT from all audiences. But Thandel, even after its Netflix release, gets the appreciation from Telugu audiences, but it did not get connected to other audiences.

Though the film trended at the top position in Telugu, it did not see a big viewership from other languages, and also the other language people who watched the film on OTT felt it was just an okay film.
