Shocking Co-Incidence between HIT Series and Real-Life Crime Incidents

There is a connection between real-life crimes and director Sailesh Kolanu’s HIT series. Just before the release of HIT: The First Case, a horrific rape incident happened in Hyderabad, and before the release of HIT: The Second Case, a gruesome murder of a woman happened in Delhi.

A Similar Scene to the Pahalgam Terror Attack in HIT-3

The Pahalgam terrorist attack has significantly affected Indian citizens in various ways. This tragic event resulted in the loss of 26 lives, primarily tourists, raising worries about safety in areas like Jammu and Kashmir. Is L2: Empuraan a cost failure?

0

Latest Mollywood film, L2: Empuraan starring Mohanlal is the sequel of Lucifer. The film has been made with the biggest budget in Mollywood. However, the number was not confirmed by the makers. There have been many numbers regarding the budget, saying it to be 150 crores, 170 and even 200 crores.

But, as per Mollywood Produers Association report, the film has been made on a budget of 175.66 crores. The film’s OTT and satellite rights fetched 35 crores. Theatrically, the film has collected a gross of over 260 crores and a share of 115 crores. With the theatrical share and non-theatrical business, the film fetched 150 crores.

When we include few other rights like Audio, for the budget spend amount of 175 crores, this isn’t enough. The primary reason for this is because of the film’s underperformance in other language markets. The film acquired a mixed word of mouth, and this was also the reason why the film didn’t put big numbers after the 1st week in Malayalam version.

The team has already announced that there will be a third part. So, we need to see if the makers really make the third part with this result. If the third part also gets to be made with a big budget, then the film may see a risky outcome just like L2: Empuraan.

Music directors getting involved in copyright claims is not a new thing. The legendary musicians Ilaiyaraaja and AR Rahman are known to be strict about their works, and they would not spare anyone who illegally claims their works. However, surprisingly, AR Rahman faces copyright heat because of Veera Raja Veera song from PS-2.

The Delhi High Court has directed A.R. Rahman and the production house Madras Talkies to deposit ₹2 crore in a copyright infringement case related to the song “Veera Raja Veera” from Ponniyin Selvan 2, following a lawsuit filed by the Junior Dagar Brothers, who allege that the song completely copies their composition “Shiva Stuti.”

Ustad Faiyaz Wasifuddin Dagar claimed in court that he owns the copyright to all original works by the Junior Dagar Brothers, including Shiv Stuti, and accused the defendants of infringement.

On April 25, Justice Prathiba M. Singh found that from a listener’s view, Rahman’s ‘Veera Raja Veera’ closely resembles Shiva Stuti in notes and emotional impact.

The Court orders AR Rahman and the producers of PS-2 to deposit 2 Crores

In conclusion, the court determines that the disputed song closely resembles the Shiva Stuti, with only a change in words. Adding other elements made the song seem more modern, but the core musical work remains the same, the court stated.

The court ordered Rahman, Madras Talkies, and Lyca Productions to deposit Rs 2 crore in a fixed account until the case concludes. The fans are shocked as AR Rahman faces copyright heat because of Veera Raja Veera song from PS-2.
