Ramayana Major Cast Revealed

The Indian cinema audiences await Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. Right from the unofficial announcement itself, the film had a huge craze, and now, Ramayana’s major cast has been revealed.

On July 3, the makers released the first teaser of the epic movie, which showed a terrific glimpse of how the entire film will be. Fans were awestruck by the stunning background score and the visuals in the last bit of the video.

Everyone knows about the story of Ramayana. It revolves around the epic battle that was fought between Lord Ram and Ravana. The movie is being made with the highest record budget ever for an Indian film.

This magnum opus also has a huge star cast. Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana’s major cast has been revealed. Ranbir plays the character of Lord Ram. Kannada actor Yash is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the movie, in which he will play the role of Ravana. Sai Pallavi will play Goddess Sita.

Amitabh Bachchan, Sunny Deol, and Arun Govil to essay crucial characters in the Ramayana

Sunny Deol appears as Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey will be seen as Lakshman. Arun Govil as King Dasharath, Indira Krishnan as Queen Kaushalya, Lara Dutta as Queen Kaikeyi, and Anil Kapoor as King Janak.

Amitabh Bachchan will appear as Jatayu, Adinath Kothare as Bharat, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara, Bobby Deol as Kumbhkaran, Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishan, Vikrant Massey as Meghnad, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Mohit Raina as Lord Shiva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, and Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva.

Ramayana locks this year and next year’s Diwali

Ramayana will be released in two parts: the first one on Diwali 2026 and the second on Diwali 2027. Directed by Nitesh and produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. 

Oscar-winning legends Hans Zimmer, Hollywood composer, and AR Rahman will compose music for this magnum opus.

Kayadu Lohar Says No to Dhanush

Following the success of the movie Dragon, Kayadu Lohar gained huge popularity in the South. The film’s success made her a youth sensation, and she received countless offers from Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam films. However, due to her tight schedule and date conflicts with other obligations, Kayadu had to decline the opportunity to co-star with Dhanush. With her schedule full, she respectfully declined the offer, leaving the makers to hunt for another option.

The filmmaker has now decided on Pooja Hegde as the female protagonist, which has been officially confirmed. While Kayadu had to miss out on this huge project, her resume indicates a promising career in a variety of languages.

వాస్తవానికి ఈ ఏడాది జనవరిలో రిలీజ్ కావాల్సిన ఈ మూవీ జులై లో రిలీజ్ అవుతుందని భావించారు. అయితే విజువల్ ఎఫెక్ట్స్ లేట్ కారణంగా మూవీ మరికొన్ని నెలలు వాయిదా పడింది.

Hari Hara Veera Mallu Team Still at High Prices

After facing multiple delays in shooting and release schedules, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has finally locked its theatrical release for July 24. The recently launched trailer has garnered a positive response, boosting the film’s buzz and giving the trade circle some hope. However, despite the attention, the film’s theatrical business is still not fully closed.

Typically, big-budget films close their business quickly after trailer releases, but that hasn’t been the case here. One major reason is the prolonged shooting delays that affected momentum. Another factor is that the production is not being handled by a regular banner, raising questions in trade circles.

The biggest challenge, however, lies in the mismatch between the prices quoted by the producers and what buyers are willing to pay. Currently, the makers are reportedly expecting around ₹150 crore from the Telugu states alone. The fantasy entertainer Vishwambhara was originally planned for Sankranthi 2025, but it moved to summer, and now its release date itself has not been announced yet. The team is trying to arrive in September or October.

The same scenario has happened with Anushka Shetty’s Ghaati, which was planned for an April release and then moved to July, and now it has been postponed again.

UV Creations took to its official social media accounts and announced the postponement of Ghaati from July 11, 2025, citing unfinished production. 

In a public statement, the makers promise a deeper, more powerful cinematic experience. The fans are sad as Anushka Shetty and Vikram Prabhu’s highly anticipated action-drama Ghaati is getting postponed again.

While Bhanu Prakash and Jayatheertha play the other two leads, the ensemble cast includes prominent names like Harsha Chemudu, Ramana Bhargav, Chaitanya Rao Madadi, Jeevan Kumar, Akshara, and Sunil. Producer Sandeep Raj appears in a significant role as well.

Uppu Kappurambu is a Telugu film that is directly released on OTT. Starring Keerthy Suresh and Suhas in the main roles, this rural drama is directed by Ani I.V. Sasi, known for Ninnila Ninnila. The movie is currently available on Amazon Prime Video and is streaming in various languages. Check out our review to see how it fares.

Story:

Set in the 1990s, in a quirky village named Chitti Jayapuram, Apoorva (Keerthy Suresh) becomes the village leader even though she has no experience in governance.

At the same time, Chinna (Suhas), a gravedigger, lives there with his mother and is fighting cancer.

During a panchayat meeting, Chinna brings up a strange yet urgent concern: there are only four available spots left in the village graveyard. Suddenly, every villager is eager to claim a spot for themselves.

To add to the emotional weight, Chinna’s mother has a final wish. The story revolves around how Apoorva attempts to solve this issue, how Suhas assists her, and how he honors his mother’s last request.

Performances:

Keerthy Suresh plays an entirely different role in Uppu Kappurambu. Her quirky look and exaggerated body language in the beginning are clearly intentional, adding humor.

Although her performance feels strange at first, she eventually fits into the role and gives a believable performance as her character develops. Her willingness to take on such a role is admirable.

Suhas once again shows he is a natural actor. As a gravedigger, he gives a solid and impactful performance.

Babu Mohan as Muttayya and Shatru as Madhu Babu both bring lighthearted moments that enhance the effect. Talluri Rameshwari, despite having limited screen time, plays a crucial emotional role that supports the main conflict

Analysis:

Director Ani I.V. Sasi takes on a unique, quirky, and bold idea. It’s not a typical story, but it gets better as it progresses. The mix of humor and emotion is evident, but the initial moments and certain scenes in the film are overdone, disrupting the flow. 

The narrative gathers strength with the friendship of Apoorva and Chinna becoming stronger, and the second half, for the most part, is engaging, and the final moments, where Apoorva becomes the true leader, work well.

Negatives:

  • Dull Scenes in the First Half

Uppu Kappurambu Movie Review and Verdict:

Ani I.V. Sasi’s Uppu Kappurambu is a quirky rural drama. Despite the uneven initial moments and a few over-the-top scenes working against it, the film also features enjoyable moments and a strong climax, guided by Keerthy Suresh’s impressive performance, backed by Suhas, making it a decent watch.
