DNA Movie Review: A Well-Made Crime Thriller

0

Movie: DNA
Rating: 3/5
Cast: Atharvaa, Nimisha Sajayan, Balaji Sakthivel, Chetan, Ramesh Thilak, and others
Director: Nelson Venkatesan
Streaming On: Jio Hotstar

DNA is the recently released Tamil crime thriller that stars actors Atharvaa Murali (who also stars in Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, Parasakti) and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles. Directed by Nelsan Venkatesan, the film is now available for streaming on Jio Hotstar. Let’s check on how well this movie has been made in our review.

Story:

Divya, played by Nimisha Sajayan, deals with bipolar personality disorder while being married to Anand, portrayed by Atharvaa, who turns to alcohol after a heartbreak. The couple moves on from their tough past and enjoys a happy life together after tying the knot.

Divya brings a baby boy into the world, much to everyone’s happiness, but both the families are stunned when she says that the hospital workers replaced her son with someone else’s baby.

Will Anand buy into Divya’s story? What happened to Divya and Anand’s son? What major conspiracy is in the background of this? The rest of the story unfolds through these answers

Performances:

Nimisha Sajayan and Atharvaa performed amazingly well. Atharvaa brings the emotions well in crucial scenes, and Nimisha Sajayan nailed her role as a girl dealing with mental issues.

Chetan and Ramesh Thilak are apt, but their characters are left midway. Balaji Sakthivel is good in a supporting role, while Mohammad Zeeshan Ayyub and others are okay.

Analysis:

The story crafted by Nelson Venkatesan for DNA is sure to grab the audience’s attention. The idea of babies vanishing from certain hospitals is quite fascinating. The screenplay hooks you like a good crime thriller should, though it does have some hiccups.

The first half takes a while to get to the main point, and there are some boring parts along the way. In the second half, when the hero looks for his lost son, some convenient plot points pop up and kind of lessen the impact for a bit.

How the suspense unfolds in the story keeps everyone interested. The interval block really grabs the audience’s attention for the second half.

Even though the story speeds up a bit at the end, the way they deal with the mastermind of the kidnapping gang is pretty cool.

Positives:

  • Atharvaa – Nimisha’s Performance
  • Interesting Plot and Screenplay
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Ordinary Scenes in the First Half
  • Predictable Parts in the Second Half
  • Unnecessary Songs

DNA Movie Review and Verdict:

Nelson Venkatesan’s DNA impresses the audience as a well-made crime thriller with an intriguing plot. The main story of the film, the performance of the actors, and the engaging screenplay are the highlights of the film. While it has its share of dull moments and predictable twists in the second half, the movie is worth watching.

Hyderabad Premieres in Trouble for Hari Hara Veera Mallu

0

There are only two days for the theatrical release of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1—Sword vs. Spirit. The makers are screening the premieres in Andhra Pradesh, but the Hyderabad premieres of Hara Veera Mallu are in trouble.

With confidence in the content, the HHVM team is screening paid premieres on Wednesday night. The advance bookings have already opened for the film in Andhra Pradesh, and the shows are carrying very good demand.

But in Telangana, there is uncertainty about the special premier shows, as the Telangana government decided to stop the special shows and premieres because of a tragic incident that happened at Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 premieres.

Now the news is that the Hyderabad premieres of Pawan Kalyan’s Hara Veera Mallu are in trouble for the same reason. It looks like there will be no premieres as of now, but the producer and distributor are reportedly trying hard to get the permission from the government.

We have to wait and see whether the makers of Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1—Sword vs. Spirit will be successful in their attempt or not.

Saiyaara Movie Review: Mohit Suri Mark Intense Romantic Drama

0

Movie Name: Saiyaara
Rating: 3/5
Cast:
Ahaan Pandey, Aneet Padda, Geeta Agarwal, and Others
Director: Mohit Suri
Produced By:
Akshay Vidhani
Release Date: 18th July 2025

The latest romantic entertainer film ‘Saiyaara’, directed by director Mohit Suri, has been released in theaters recently and creating havoc at the box office with superb collections. Let’s see how much this film, starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneeth Padda, impresses the audience in this review.

Story:

Krish Kapoor, brought to life by Ahaan Panday, is a self-centered and easily angered musician trying to score a huge break. He bumps into Vaani (Aneet Padda), a reserved wannabe journalist who was jilted on her wedding day. Krish stumbles upon her diary packed with lyrics. He makes them into songs, and they become super popular. They both fall in love.

But fate messes things up, and the two get split up. The rest of the movie shows whether the couple gets back together and what challenges they face.

Performances:

Ahaan Panday steps into the spotlight as Krish with a lot of confidence. He nails a tough role right out of the gate, and that’s worth some applause, though he has to improve in some areas.

Aneet Padda takes on a tricky role, and she nails it. She totally shines on screen, and Ahaan and Aneet have some real chemistry together. Their performance is what keeps the narrative flow well. Geeta Agarwal is natural as the mother of the heroine, while the other supporting actors do not register.

Analysis:

When it comes to the story, Saiyaara doesn’t bring anything new to the table since Mohit’s romantic flicks usually hit the same notes—you can easily predict what happens next. Recently, the director pointed out that Saiyaara represents what Aashiqui 3 could have been, and he is spot on. The movie totally vibes with the Aashiqui universe.

Music has always been a highlight in Mohit’s movies, and in Saiyyara, it works again. Tanishk Bagchi, Arslan Abdullah, and Faheem Nizami create heartfelt music.

The first half does a good job of establishing the mood, and while the second half gets more emotional, it starts to feel a bit drawn out because you can guess what is going to happen next.

Mohit could have made the tension between the leads more intense instead of just repeating the scenes where the hero and heroine’s relationship faces troubles. Yet, Mohit knows exactly what his audience wants and delivers a perfect ending to the film.

Positives:

  • Ahaan Pandey – Aneet Padda’s Performance
  • Soulful Music
  • Emotional Scenes/Dialogues

Negatives:

  • Predictable Scenes in the Second Half
  • Hero’s Character Not Explored Fully
  • Slow Moments at a Few Places

Saiyaara Movie Review and Verdict:

Saiyaara may not bring anything new in terms of storytelling, and it has a share of predictable and drawn-out moments, but it strikes the right emotional chords with exceptional performance from the lead pair, Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, and soulful music makes it work.

Shankar Banks on Indian 3

0

Shankar and Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 was a shocking disaster at the box office, and the result also halted the progress of its sequel. However, the director Shankar still banks on Indian 3.

Director Shankar was celebrated by the whole indian Cinema, but he now faces a tough phase of his career with back-to-back big failures, Indian 2 and Game Changer.

Shankar and team confident bout Indian 3

However, the veteran director is said to have shown confidence about Indian 3 content, and he assumes this will give him a comeback. Even though Indian 2 is an outright disaster, we cannot trash its sequel.

Till now, whatever content from Indian 3 has been released, it has received a positive response. The Indian 3 trailer also works very well for audiences. The Paara lyrical song works very well.

Moreover, the third part of Indian is set against the Pre-Independence Era, which is the biggest asset that can create interest among audiences.

If we remember the promotions of Indian Two, Kamal repeatedly said he liked the third part more than the second part, and that was the reason for him to choose the script.

That is why Shankar still banks on Indian 3, and the team is planning to complete the pending work very soon and is planning to release the film this December.

Saiyaara Box Office Storm to Dent Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Kingdom

0

The entire Bollywood is in awe of the new film, Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri and starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneeta Padda. Saiyaara’s box office storm will dent Hari Hara. Veera Mallu and Kingdom.

Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom are the next two biggies from Tollywood, and both are pan-Indian biggies made on huge budgets.

Both films have sequels in the works, and with the budget they have spent, both films want some good numbers from Hindi. However, Saiyaara, the new Bollywood movie, is creating havoc at the theaters.

The romantic musical film is creating a sensation at the box office. On the first weekend, the film has collected 100 Cr gross in India and 2 million overseas. Today the film is holding extraordinarily.

Bollywood’s trade reports that the footfalls today almost match the opening day. Trade expects that the film will do a minimum of 300 Cr net in its full run, and it will have at least a 3-4 week run.

Saiyaara’s box office storm will dent Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Kingdom. Because both films carry very low buzz in Hindi belts, and they will for sure be affected by the success of the Hindi film.
