0

NTR will appear alongside Hrithik Roshan in War 2, his Bollywood debut film. The star’s image has escalated to the next level with the global success of RRR, followed by Devara enthralling his fans. NTR makes his magazine cover debut on Esquire India.

For the first time in his career, young Tiger NTR appears on a magazine cover, Esquire India, and the cover pic goes viral on the internet as fans share it rapidly.

NTR makes his magazine cover debut on Esquire India. The shoot occurred at The View, Palm Jumeirah, in Dubai, showcasing a confident pose of the actor against the skyline.

He sports a dark maroon shirt and trousers with loafers, creating a striking monochrome effect. The fans like his reflective shades and tidy hair that enhance his sharp look, while his relaxed stance on a wooden chair exudes confidence.

The magazine highlights that NTR, in spite of his legacy, stays true to himself. War 2 drops on August 14, and the cover is not just about style, and it shows how Tarak’s image is changing both in movies and in real life.

Lokesh Kanagaraj Builds Strong Fanbase Among Telugu Audiences

0

Tamil Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has made a strong impact on Telugu audiences, with films like Khaidi and Vikram. Rajinikanth’s Coolie is his next release, and the Telugu version’s bookings say that Lokesh Kanagaraj has built a strong fanbase among Telugu audiences.

Even when competing with a big Telugu star like NTR in War 2, Lokesh’s movie cracked some sections of Telugu viewers’ interest, and they prefer to watch his film first.

Coolie’s Telugu version advance bookings are proof that Lokesh Kanagaraj has built a strong fan base among Telugu audiences. His last film, Leo, also had a very good opening in Telugu despite the face-off with Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari, and that too, even though Vijay is not a big star in Telugu.

Now, even with NTR’s War 2 releasing, Coolie gears up for a massive opening in Telugu. With the help of the Lokesh brand, the film also has Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead role, alongside Nagarjuna in an antagonist role.

So, all the above-mentioned factors worked superbly for Rajinikanth and Lokesh’s film, and if it gets positive reviews, then it can mint huge numbers at the Telugu states box office.

High Ticket Rates Hurting Theatres

0

The cinema theaters are going through the worst phase in the Telugu industry in recent years. The footfalls have been lessened over the years because the high ticket rates are hurting theaters.

The situation is so bad that the theaters are facing deficits for more than 75% of the days in a month. Recently, if we see the big-budget films Kannappa, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and the latest Kingdom, all the films fell below 1 Cr share on the first weekday of the initial weekend.

Buyers pay huge amounts to get the movies’ rights, but the movies are ending up with losses, and at the same time, theaters are running in deficits and facing problems in maintaining them properly.

As they face losses in lakhs every month, the theater owners are finding it tough to survive. 90% of the films are seeing deficits in the 1st week, including pan-Indian budget films.

It’s high time for producers, distributors, and exhibitors to start offering flexible ticket prices instead of always going with the GO Max Ticket Price because high ticket rates are hurting theaters.

They should try new techniques and methods, such as reducing the ticket prices for the movies that open with mixed WOM and negative reviews.

The theaters in Telugu states should slash the ticket rates by 20%, 30%, or even 50% on weekdays based on the movies’ performance. Then only the theaters, at least, can get some decent numbers.

If the same trend of huge ticket prices continues, then the theaters will definitely fall much lower than now.

No Record Opening for Athadu 4K

0

Athadu Re-Release has been the most awaited one for Mahesh Babu’s fans, and even other audiences also love to watch the film on screen again. The film is releasing on August 9th, but Athadu 4K will not have a record opening at the box office.

Undoubtedly, when it comes to re-releases, Superstar Mahesh Babu is the leading star, as many of his re-releases collected huge numbers, and he also holds the biggest grossers in re-releases with Murari and Khaleja.

Everyone expected Athadu’s re-release will create new benchmarks in rereleased movies, and the movie is all set to arrive this weekend on the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday. But the film sees a big effect with continuous new releases, and those movies are biggies.

Continuous Big Releases Affect Athadu Re-Release Box Office Prospects

In the last 2 weeks, Kingdom, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and Mahavatar Narasimha have been released, and the latter is still making waves at the box office. On August 14th, Coolie and War 2, two big movies, are getting released in theaters.

So, finding good shows to fill the gap and bringing audiences for a re-released movie with big releases before and after is definitely an impossible task, as the old movie releases always work in dry periods with no big films.

That is why Athadu 4K will not have a record opening at the box office. Currently, the film carries 1.25 Cr in advance bookings, which is good for a re-release. However, these bookings are not enough to get record openings and become the highest grosser.

Kingdom Crashes at Box Office on First Monday

0

The fans of Vijay Deverakonda expected their favorite actor to make a solid comeback with Kingdom, his latest film. However, despite a superb start, Kingdom crashes at the box office on the first Monday.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the action drama had an okay-to-decent first weekend with a gross of over 60 Cr and a share of over 34 Cr worldwide (including GST in Telugu states) for the Telugu version, achieving a 2/3 recovery for buyers.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom crashes at the Box Office after 1st weekend

However, on its 1st Monday, the film completely collapses as the share falls below ₹ 1 crore. The trade is shocked as Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom crashes at the box office on the first Monday.

Now it is very tough for the film to see any weekday shares from today, and it needs a jump on the 2nd weekend to get the recovery for buyers.

The film is most likely to settle with a below-average status at the box office, with around 70-80% recovery for the buyers, including GST returns.

Coolie Beats War 2 in Telugu Advance Bookings America

0

The Box Office competition on August 14th between Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 is awaited by everyone. With the help of its craze, Coolie beats War 2 in Telugu advance bookings in America.

As of now, the advance bookings of Coolie are too good, and they started on a record note. The pre-sales for Premiers have already crossed 1.1M, and the film is expected to set a record for Kollywood premieres before actual shows start.

Coming to War 2 advance bookings, they have been going on a very slow note in America. The Premier’s advances stand at 200K currently. For Bollywood audiences, premieres will not work for most of the movies, so slow bookings for Hindi version can be expected.

Coolie Telugu Advance Bookings are more than War 2 in America

However, the surprising part is that Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie beats Hrithik Roshan and NTR’s War 2 in Telugu advance bookings in America.

The Telugu version of the action drama is trending higher than the Telugu version of the War sequel. Coolie’s Telugu version premiere bookings are at 200K, whereas War 2’s Telugu premiere advance bookings stand at 150K.

If we see from the business perspective, the sequel of War doubled the business of Superstar Rajini’s Coolie in Telugu.

So, War 2 needs to do double what Coolie does in all areas, but the current trend is below the latter in the USA advances, which is definitely disappointing. We need to wait and see whether the trend will change in the coming days.

Karuppu OTT Woes Continue

0

Suriya faced a big failure with Retro, which was released in theaters in May. The actor is all set to arrive with his new film, Karuppu, directed by RJ Balaji. The makers are yet to announce the release date, and it is said that OTT woes continue for Karuppu.

Suriya’s recent films, Kanguva and Retro, grabbed very good OTT deals. Kanguva was released in multiple languages and had a big budget, while Retro had Karthik Subbaraj’s brand.

Along with Suriya’s factor, the additional factors played a big role in the OTT deals of Kanguva and Retro. The actor’s next film with Venky Atluri also sold its digital rights for a high price of 85 Cr, due to Atluri’s super consistency with Sir and Lucky Baskhar’s results.

However, OTT woes continue for Karuppu, Suriya’s film with RJ Balaji, which has completed the entire shoot, and a teaser was also released by the makers.

Suriya’s Karuppu Telugu Teaser

Because of the pending OTT deal, the film’s release date has not been announced. Reportedly, the makers are said to have quoted around 65 Cr, but the offers they got were around 45 Cr, as the director, RJ Balaji, does not have a big brand.

The makers are planning to release the film on Diwali, but they are waiting for the OTT deal to be finished. We need to wait and watch when this issue will be sorted out.

What Went Wrong with FireStorm Views?

0

The release of OG’s first single, Firestorm, made fans extremely happy, as they were thrilled with the way director Sujeeth presented their favorite actor. However, despite its success, something went wrong with the views of the Firestorm song.

For any movie, the 1st single will be the most exciting one for audiences, and especially for a big film, it will see record views and set a benchmark. Pawan Kalyan’s OG first single has a tough task in this regard.

Pawan Kalyan’s OG First Single – Firestorm is not getting the expected Views on YouTube

“They Call Him OG” is not a regular film from Pawan, and it created buzz like a big event film, and there is a huge anticipation for the film’s audio as well.

The first single, Firestorm, was expected to create new benchmarks on YouTube. But surprisingly, the song was not even listed in the top 10 views in 24 hours. Even though the team might have gone completely the organic way without ads, this is a bit low.

Two days after its release, the Firestorm song’s views still have not crossed 10 million, and it stands at 8.5M currently.

Nowadays, big films also need 50M or 100M songs, and even the OG’s first single, Firestorm, is expected to reach such a range. We need to wait and see to know whether it can make it to bigger levels in the coming days.

Vijay Deverakonda Wait Continues for Success

0

Vijay Deverakonda came before audiences with the action drama Kingdom, which was released last weekend. The film brought excellent numbers on day 1, but failed to continue the flow. Vijay Deverakonda’s wait continues for success.

Vijay Devarakonda’s last blockbusters came in 2018: Geetha Govindam and Taxiwala. After that, the actor faced continuous setbacks and did not score a proper blockbuster at the box office.

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, Kingdom was released with high expectations, and it also collected big openings and decent reviews. So, everyone expected that it would give the much-needed comeback film for Vijay Devarakonda.

However, the sudden rise of Mahavatar Narsimha on Saturday and Sunday hits Vijay and Gowtam’s film massively and makes the weekend below expectations with 2/3 recovery for buyers.

On its first Monday, the film sees a miserable drop in collections, which suggests that the film is likely to end up with below-average to average status.

So, Vijay Deverakonda’s wait continues for success, as Kingdom fails to deliver the blockbuster success that everyone anticipated.

Telugu Film Producers Guild Calls For Film Crew – VARIOUS CRAFTS

0

The latest call for a strike by TFEF (Telugu Film Employees’ Federation) has led to some crucial changes in the Telugu film industry. For various crafts in the film crew, the Telugu Film Producers Guild seeks applications from both seasoned and up-and-coming experts.

With tensions rising over the Federation’s demand for a 30% wage increase, which they said would halt all shoots from August 4 if not met, producers have responded by overhauling their hiring policies.

Today, the Chamber dropped a statement saying that producers can now hire skilled workers and techs in private without worrying about their union ties.

Everyone in the Chamber agreed on this decision to make the industry easier to get into and cut down on what producers think are unfair obstacles.

“Why should someone have to pay lakhs just to get a job in the film industry?” This was the statement that raised concerns, highlighting that high union joining fees were keeping a lot of qualified candidates from joining.

The producers claimed that these practices stifle competition and hold back new talent in the industry.

So, because of the strike call from TFEF (Telugu Film Employees’ Federation), the Telugu Film Producers Guild seeks applications for various crafts in film crew.

The candidates can apply for posts such as direction department, camera, sound, editing, production managers, and many more.
