Thandel Struggles in America

Thandel’s Box Office performance is good, but one thing is surprising everyone. It is widely known that directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is an emotional love drama starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the leads. The film was released in theaters worldwide on February 7th and opened to positive reviews. The film performs well even after the first weekend, but the trade circles are a bit surprised as Thandel struggles in America.

Thandel’s US Box office numbers are definitely a shocker. Recently, movies that received positive reviews have put in very big numbers. Thandel succeeded in creating a good buzz, and WOM also opened well, along with positive reviews. With all this, the film could have easily done a minimum of $1.5M$ in America.

However, Thandel struggles in America to live up to the mark and now it looks like the film will even struggle to cross the one million mark. Until Monday, the movie has collected around 700K$ in America. So, now to achieve the one million dollar mark, the film needs a very strong 2nd weekend at the US Box Office. 

The film is doing very well in India but fails to continue the same strong momentum in America. However, the rest of the overseas countries like Australia, the UK, and the Gulf fetched good collections for the movie compared to America. Thandel’s total overseas collections for 4 days will be around 950K.

Thandel Passes Monday Test with Decent Hold

Naga Chaitanya- Sai Pallavi starrer Thandel had an extraordinary weekend at the Box office with Rs 55 Cr gross collection and around 31 Cr share. The film did a decent job on 1st Monday. The noon shows started well on Monday and saw a good jump for matinees whereas evening and night shows did not make much jump.

After seeing the noon shows collections, the film was expected to collect more than 8 Cr gross worldwide on Monday. However, the film could collect around Rs 6 Cr due to ordinary evening and night shows. drop in evening and night, Rs 6 crore on Monday is a decent hold and good news for the makers.

For 4 days, the movie has collected around 61 Cr gross and close to 34 Cr share. The film should maintain the same momentum on these weekdays and needs to take a jump over the weekend.

Geetha Arts have planned a successful meeting for Thandel this evening with Nagarjuna attending the event as the chief guest.

NTR-Prashanth Neel Film Goes on Floors

NTR and Prashanth Neel have announced a film in their combination. It is widely known that NTR recently scored a blockbuster with Devara, which is a solo film for six years (2018 – Aravinda Sametha). Vidaamuyarchi crashes at the Box office on first Monday

Vidaamuyarchi opened with excellent numbers at the box office with an average word of mouth. The film has also trended on an average note over the weekend and posted only around 115 crores gross worldwide. Shockingly, Vidaamuyarchi saw a massive drop after its first weekend with today’s estimates falling to a 6 crores range.

With this trend, the film may find it difficult to reach the 150 crores mark which looks very tough from now on. There is also no chance for the film to touch the breakeven mark. The release date seemed to have cost the film’s prospects very badly for the film. It would have been very difficult if the film had been released for the Sankranthi season as planned before.

Vidaamuyarchi could have at least collected 200 crores gross worldwide and emerged as an above-average venture. Now, the film is on the way to brand itself as a failure, unfortunately. In Tamil Nadu, even crossing the 100-crore mark looks very hard with the film crashing badly today. Lyca Productions has been witnessing back-to-back disasters shockingly.

With Game Changer, Tollywood witnessed a big setback with Privacy as the HD print came out on release day itself. Regarding Game Changer’s piracy it was revealed that the admin uploaded the Tamil version and added the Telugu audio to it, and it was uploaded from an overseas country and not from India. Tollywood got hit by Piracy due to the Tamil Version.

In Sankranthi’s releases, Only Game Changer faced HD Print piracy at release time. Now Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel also faced the same issue. The makers officially revealed the same: it was a Tamil version HD print and Telugu audio was added for that and uploaded from an overseas country.

Piracy: A Big Blow for Telugu Cinema

In Kollywood piracy has been there for a longer time, but now in Tollywood also we are seeing that due to the Tamil version getting released for pan-India films. The film will be released on 2027 Sankranthi, and it will have the same cast and crew as its first part

Thandel Producers wage war on piracy

Thandel starring Naga Chaitanya is running strong in the theatres with a unanimous positive response. But, shockingly, the film’s HD version was pirated on Day 1 itself and was uploaded online as well. The team took it very seriously and have also pledged to wage a legal war against the pirates.

Producers of the film conducted a press meet officially a while ago. Allu Aravind there said that they are to initiate action against the Admins who uploaded the film on WhatsApp and Telegram groups as part of sharing the film online. He also warned people who downloaded the version of arrest. Interestingly, the film was played on a local APSRTC bus which was condemned by the Producer, Bunny Vas.

Fans and Audience were also unhappy with these piracy issues. Recently, Game Changer was also pirated on the release day itself with an HD version coming out. Celebrities are also demanding to curb these practices which are also being attributed to the underperformance of the film.
