Kerala strike hits Kamal Haasan

The Kerala Production Council plans to hold a strike to bring down the remuneration of the cast and crew members. They believe that the films are becoming cost failures due to this sudden rise in remunerations recently. They have already called for a shutdown from 1st June in the Distribution, Exhibition, and shooting segments. This means the stoppage of the run of the theatres and film shoots.

This plan, if taken up, will hit Kamal Haasan since his Thug Life directed by Mani Ratnam is gearing up for its release. The duo joined hands for Thug Life nearly after 30 years. The film’s shoot has also been wrapped up and the team celebrated this occasion as well.

The Release Date Teaser of Thug Life was also released which created a big sensation on social media platforms. The film has been announced to release on 5th June and Kerala also happens to be a big market for Tamil Film Industry. So, for a combination like Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, there is a huge potential for Thug Life to do more than 50 crores gross there. So, the team needs a worry-free release, but this strike’s announcement puts them in a dilemma about the release date now.

Drishyam 3 announced: But one big question

Just a day passed with Mohanlal announcing a new film under the direction of Anoop Menon and another announcement today came as a surprise. The Actor is set to act in the third part of the much acclaimed Drishyam series, Drishyam 3. The series is a sensational blockbuster and was remade into all the known languages of the Country.

Drishyam 2 was also planned theatrically, but this was halted due to Corona which had the film premiered directly on OTT. The film still received mind-blowing reviews and acclaim. Fans and Audiences expressed themselves that they missed the film’s release in theatres then. But, in Hindi, Drishyam 2 starring Ajay Devgan released theatrically and became a sensational blockbuster.

Director of the film, Jeethu Joseph has been working on Drishyam 3 for a long time and seems to have locked in the idea and script now. The film has been officially announced by Mohanlal on his official social media handles. But, there are doubts over how the film will be dealt with as a Pan India film since it has remakes in most of the languages. The cast and crew are also different in each language.

Issue with Malayalam version coming out first :

At present, many regional films are also getting nationwide recognition through the OTT space. So, with Drishyam 3 releasing in Malayalam will surely affect other language remakes as the story and twists will be out first with its release. Other language Audiences will watch the film when it comes out on the OTT platform.

It needs to be seen how the team tackles this issue. It would be good if the shoot of all the versions of the film commences at the same time and they must be released at a time. This will surely work big for all the film versions. And other plan is to release as a Pan India film with Mohanlal in the lead role for all langauges but Audience reception to this must be different because they may or not get connected with this plan. Vishwak Sen’s Promise: Will He Deliver?

Vishwak Sen has seen continuous failures in recent times. The films like Gangs of Godavari, Mechanic Rocky, and recent Laila failed to impress the audiences. Laila faced severe backlash from audiences and reviewers. Now, Vishwak Sen makes a promise about his upcoming movies.

The young and energetic actor lost his respect in audiences because he delivered a vulgar film with Laila. Vishwak seems to have realised his mistake and pens a letter in response. “I promise that whether my films cater to class or mass audiences, they will never cross the line into vulgarity,” he wrote.

He further stated that he would personally ensure every scene in his future films maintains a certain standard. “Since the beginning of my career, I have chosen stories that resonate with me, and I will continue to do so. However, from now on, it won’t just be about making good films—every single scene of mine will matter,” said the actor.

Vishwak Sen makes a promise about his upcoming movies but needs to see whether he will stand on his promise by delivering good projects from now on. One good thing is he is having a promising lineup in the coming days. His next film is with Jathi Ratnalu director Anudeep, and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi sequel is also in works.

Allu Arjun keeps Trivikram waiting

Tollywood Actor Allu Arjun and Director Trivikram joined hands for a film in 2023 which was also announced officially. It was also planned to start the shoot after the completion of Pushpa 2. However, the delay in the shoot of Pushpa 2 caused a slight pause for the project to take off. Recently, there has been speculation of the Actor collaborating with Atlee for a film. All these ensure Trivikram waits for some more days.

It is learned that the film has been planned as a high-budget spectacle and also needs time for pre-production work. This is now being perceived as the reason for Allu Arjun causing delay. His mind is also said to have changed after Bollywood Blockbuster, Jawan’s release. He is now considering Atlee to direct him as he is a mass and commercial director who also enjoys huge craze in Tamil.

With Jawan, Atlee has also been registered as a Pan India Director. So, Allu Arjun must be thinking of increasing his Pan India image which has already skyrocketed with his Pushpa 2 recently. He might take up the film with Trivikram only after this since he is a lesser-known Director than Atlee, sticking only to regional films till now.

Allu Arjun had actually given his go-ahead to Atlee by putting Trivikram’s film on hold after the Pushpa series. This project was also tentatively titled, AAA and a few pre-production works had also been done before the project was shelved due to various reasons. Atlee then moved to Salman Khan for a film, but this one was also shelved unfortunately due to budget constraints.

Change in equations after Pushpa 2:

On the other hand, Allu Arjun emerged as a huge star after his Pushpa 2 recently. Producers are now ready to pour in huge budget and are also ready to offer record remuneration which would let Allu Arjun take up his film with Atlee again. As per this, plans are also on to put Trivikram’s film on hold. Allu Arjun may say that he can do films parallelly but his focus will be on Atlee’s directorial and will concentrate on Trivikram’s film later.

Allu Arjun and Atlee’s film will definitely be the biggest combination having a huge potential to work big in all languages. An official announcement regarding the film is also expected to come very soon.

Nani, wrapping up ‘Hit 3’, faced delays with his upcoming projects, including Srikanth Odela’s ‘Paradise’ due to extensive pre production works and Sujeeth’s film, which is on hold due to ‘OG’. This allowed Nani to reconsider Cibi’s film, which is reportedly ready to begin production soon.

If all goes as planned, an official announcement could come on Nani’s birthday, February 24. Following this, Cibi is expected to reunite with Sivakarthikeyan, marking a busy period ahead for the director after three years of waiting.
