Republic pre-release business details

Sai Dharam Tej’s Republic will hit the screens tomorrow however, the movie is carrying quite a low buzz and needs some major catching up. Sai Dharam Tej is playing the role of a District Collector Abhiram Panja.

The film will be an action-packed commentary on the Indian democratic system and how politicians yield supreme power over the civil servants and courts. Ramya Krishna is seen playing the role of a politician while Aishwarya Rajesh plays Sai Dharam Tej’s love interest.

Republic has done a worldwide business of Rs 12 cores and a blockbuster talk is much required in order to achieve a safe ground. The Andhra rights have gone for Rs 5 crores (ratio) while the Nizam region has fetched the makers Rs 3.5 crores. The Ceded region rights have gone for an amount of Rs 2.5 crores while the ROW stands at Rs 1 crore.

Love Story has become the first film after the Corona 2nd wave to breach the $1 Million target. Post the first weekend, Love Story has collected a share of only 4.3Crs worldwide. Not only in the Telugu States but Love Story has slowed down even in USA which is unexpected. It collected a share of 8.2Crs in Andhra region, around 9.5Crs in Nizam and 3.4Crs in Ceeded area taking the worldwide share to 26.63Crs. Theatrical rights of this film are valued at 32.8Crs and Love Story needs to have an extraordinary 2nd weekend to reach its Breakeven mark.

As said before, Love Story has set a path for many small and medium budget films. October is packed with many small and medium budget films and hope they deliver good content so that audience are ready to receive it.

Looks like Pawan Kalyan’s open war against the AP government on the tickets and other TFI issues has got few supporters now. Days after the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce released a statement distancing themselves from Powerstar’s statements, a delegation of Tollywood producers met AP I&PR Minister Perni Nani.

A delegation comprising of Dil Raju, DVV Danayya, Bunny Vas, Sunil Narang and Mythri Naveen among others met the minister to discuss various issues. Post the meeting Perni Nani spoke to the media over the happenings of the meetings.

“Recently an actor from the industry made some misplaced statements despite government supporting the cine family. It is unfortunate. The film industry has made clear that the industry doesn’t relate to the statement made by that actors. These unfortunate statements should not have been made is what the general consensus is,” said the minister hinting at Pawan Kalyan’s statements.

He further added that the industry is providing online ticketing inputs and other issues and problems of the industry to the government. “Along with this various industry issues have been bright to the government’s notice and we will definitely look to resolve it,” he added.

“Chiranjeevi garu called me to express his displeasure at the recent happenings and asked me to ignore negativity and help the industry,” concluded the I&PR minister.

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam makers reject RRR’s request

Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam is one of the most delayed and awaited movies of Tollywood right now. The main reason for this wait is the fact that ‘Darling’ Prabhas will be seen in a romantic role after 10 long years! The makers of the film UV creations had earlier announced 14th Jan 2022 as the release date way back in July this year. Posani Krishna Murali’s recent comments on Pawan Kalyan have drawn great ire from all sides and has invited legal trouble. A case has been booked against the actor for derogatory remarks that he made at a press conference in Hyderabad against the Janasena Chief.

Posani was opposing Pawan Kalyan’s recent comments against the YSRCP government. During this press conference, the ‘Mental Krishna’ actor went overboard and made some personal remarks against Pawan which drew great criticism.

Post the event a case was registered against him by Janasena activists at the Punjagutta police station. The party members have further requested the press club to boycott any further meetings and press conferences called by Posani in the future.

Nagarjuna applauds Telangana and AP governments

Love Story’s success was celebrated in a grand manner in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Speaking at the event Nagarjuna showered praises on the entire team and thanked the Telugu audience for showing their love on the move.

Nagarjuna also applauded the Telangana government and Andhra Pradesh government for their support towards Tollywood. He thanked the governments for allowing theatres to run even when the other states’ theatres were yet to open.

Speaking on the ongoing crow of 50% occupancy in the AP theatres, the ‘Bangarraju’ actor said that he supported the government’s stance on the matter as the cases were still in abundance in AP. He further requested the governments to continue extending the same support towards Tollywood.

The tussle between Pawan Kalyan and Andhra Pradesh government is taking a heated turn day by day. Actors like Nani and Karthikeya have extended support to Pawan Kalyan’s speech in parts. On the other hand, the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has released a note stating the statements are individuals’ own opinions.

Now Manchu Vishnu has also come forward and expressed his opinion on the issue. Vishnu indirectly termed Pawan’s accusation on the online ticket portal as inaccurate. He stated that it was the representatives from the TFI who made the request first on the matter and then only did the AP government release the orders. Vishnu added that if the G.O was really unfair, why didn’t any of the representatives claim that?

Earlier speaking at the Republic pre-release event, Pawan Kalyan had alleged the AP government of ulterior motives. “The State government is trying to make money from selling tickets. It would seek loans from banks by showing the revenue that is obtained from selling tickets,” he alleged.

Looks like the YSRCP government has taken serious note of Pawan Kalyan’s comments made at the recent ‘Republic’ pre-release event. Just a day after Pawan’s ferocious speech, I&PR Minister hit back at the actor and questioned his credentials.

Now another YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has also attacked Pawan Kalyan on the issue. He stated that the film industry itself is fed up with the actor’s behavior and that is why everyone’s distancing themselves from the matter.

‘He further added that the government will go ahead with its plan of online ticketing. The government is planning to come up with a framework in the next 10 days.

He further stated that Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy was always available for talks with Tollywood representatives on the issue.
