Pushpa makers’ pose a unique condition to distributors

Icon Star Allu Arjun’s Pushpa is less than a month away from its release and the business is in full swing. The makers are quoting record prices for the movie which is expected considering it is an Allu Arjun-Sukumar project.

Along with the usual business, the makers have now posed quite a unique condition to the distributors. Mythri Movie Makers which has bankrolled the project has reportedly asked the distributors to pay up the entire amount upfront. Usually, as per trade practices, half the amount is paid first and the second half is paid around a few weeks before the release. However, the maker’s condition of taking the full amount upfront has surprised many.

The makers have quoted the distributors to send across Rs 50 crore ratio to the Andhra distributors in order to seize the deal.  The film’s theatrical business of all the language versions has now crossed a whopping Rs 150 crores making it the highest in 2021.

Mythri Movie Makers is bankrolling this project and Devi Sri Prasad will be joining Sukumar and Allu Arjun yet again after Arya and Arya 2 as the music director. The film features Rashmika in the lead role opposite Allu Arjun. Fahadh Faasil, Sunil, Dhananjay and Anasuya in key negative roles.

Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata makers quoting record prices

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Sarkaru Vaari Paata is one of the most in-demand movie in Tollywood right now. And rightly so, the buyers are showing great interest in the film. The movie promises to be a commercial entertainer and Mahesh’s look and SVP Blaster have heightened the expectations to another level.

Mythri Movie Makers are bankrolling the project and seeing the film’s massive commercial viability, they have quoted a Rs 65 crore ratio for Andhra distributors. This deal would make the film’s business the 2nd highest business in the region after RRR.

Sarkaru Vaari Paata will feature Keerthy Suresh for the first time opposite Mahesh Babu. The pairs’ chemistry in the recently released Sarkaru Vaari Paata blaster was well appreciated. Both Parasuram and Mahesh are keen on completing the film well on time and are striving hard towards it.

The action entertainer will release on April 1st with SS Thaman composing music. The first single from the film will release in January.

Producer Dil Raju has a lot riding on the upcoming Sankranti season. The ace producer has bought the Nizam rights of all three biggies RRR, Radhe Shyam, and Bheemla Nayak. While this might sound like a profitable deal, this has also brought him great tensions. Radhe Shyam would not adjust its release date and Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram are absolutely firm on 12th January

A clash means the allotment of theatres would have to undergo a lot of thought and adjustments. According to reports, this whole problem started because of Dil Raju’s confidence about Bheemla Nayak postponement. The ace producer had asked the RRR team to go ahead with the release and that he would convince Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram to move the date.

Meanwhile, this move didn’t work with both Pawan Kalyan and Trivikram categorically stating that there is no way they would compromise on release. The inability to convince Bheemla Nayak team as planned has led to this whole scenario. The release date of RRR was announced in the last moment while Radhe Shyam and Bheemla Nayak had announced Sankranti release long back.

Meanwhile, the industry circles are wondering if Dil Raju’s intervention is too late. Insiders are also wondering if it RRR team directly discussing with Bheemla Nayak makers was a better option.

  1. Drushyam 2– Venkatesh’s Drushyam 2 is the most anticipated of the Telugu OTT releases will finally make its way to the audience through small screen. Suresh Productions have chosen to go the OTT way this time as well just like their last film Narappa. This crime thriler is a remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam blockbuster sequel Drishyam 2. This Venkatesh, Meena and Nadhiya starrer will release on Amazon Prime Video on November 25th.
  2. Peddanna– Superstar Rajinikanth Annaatthe (Peddanna) might not have succeded in creating a massive blast at the box-office but surely managed to attract great OTT deals. This action drama directed by Siva will release on Sun Nxt as well as Netflix on November 26th in both Telugu and Tamil versions.
  3. Romantic – Romantic is another recent release making it’s way to small screen this week. Ketika Sharma, Akash Puri and Ramya Krishna starred in this film which managed to generate initial buzz due t raunchy scenes and over the top dialogues. However, the movie couldn’t sustain the momentum and ended as a failure at box-office. The film will release on Aha on November 26th.
  4. Republic– Sai Dharam Tej’s political action drama Republic released last month failed to impress the audience. The movie, despite the presence of a stellar supporting cast and an impressive backdrop couldn’t live up to the hype and ended up as a flop at the box office. The film will be the fourth Telugu OTT releases of the week and will stream on Zee 5 on November 26th

Akhanda overseas bookings big shock to trade circles

Balakrishna’s Akhanda is one film that has successfully generated massive hype before its release. The domestic pre-release business has been on fire with the numbers making it Balakrishna’s best pre-release ever.

However, what’s shocking is that the film is doing equally good overseas trade. This has turned out to be a pleasant surprise to the team. Usually, Boyapati’s films perform slowly in the overseas market and are not exactly known to set the box-office on fire. Similarly, Balayya’s following in the overseas market is relatively smaller compared to other heroes.

The Australia Imax located in Melbourne which is one of the largest screens in the world got sold within minutes of opening. The buzz in UK and US markets has also been quite strong much to surprise of industry experts. Mahesh Babu’s Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu promo is out!

Jr NTR’s Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu is soon going to wrap up the season in December. The RRR actor has completed the shooting of all the episodes and the show is going to end on a high. The last and special celebrity episode will feature Superstar Mahesh Babu, the makers released the promo of the episode earlier today. The shoot of this episode has already been completed.

Mahesh as usual appeared at his candid best and shared a great rapport with Jr. NTR. The episode featuring the two Tollywood top stars is surely going to be a blast.

The show got off to a great start on 15th August and recorded an amazing TRP of 11.4. This episode kickstarted a wonderful run for the show in its first week.

This victory run of Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu continued in the coming weeks and the show recorded a weekly average TRP of 5.4 which is great by all accounts. The celebrity guests such as Ram Charan, SS Rajamouli, and Koratala Siva, and Samantha, SS Thaman and DSP added to the show’s appeal.

Pragya Jaiswal is all set to make a return to the big screen with Akhanda after 3 years. The actress was last seen in the 2018 film Achaari America Yatra opposite Vishnu Manchu. Now Pragya, who has bagged this biggie shared her experiences on the film and working with Balakrishna.

“The role I have played in ‘Akhanda’ is something that I’ve never done before. I appear in the role of a bureaucrat, which appeals to the audience with a stronger conviction,” Pragya Jaiswal shared.


The excited actress expressed, “I am sure, the combination of Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna has turned out a great action thriller. I can’t wait to show the audience how well the movie has turned out”.

The actress also credited both Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna for helping her in prepping for her role even better. Pragya said that it is because of their efforts that she got to work in a role and perform in a manner that she’s never done before. The movie is all set to release on 2nd December and recently completed all censor formalities.
