Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 is finally on track once again after multiple hurdles. A sequel to the blockbuster Indian, the shooting of Indian 2 was first stopped due to some creative differences between Shankar and Kamal Haasan. Later, due to budget issues, the film was halted once again.
At the time, the production team felt that the budget was too high and it will not be able to recover the money spent at the box office. This was under the assumption that Kamal will not be able to pull the audiences into the theatres.
With Vikram, the fate of Indian 2 has been turned on its head. Vikram has changed a lot for Kamal and his brand value has catapulted. There is no doubt that Kamal is one of if not the greatest Indian actor but, this necessarily doesn’t translate to box office numbers. But with Vikram, Kamal has proved everyone wrong.
Now Indian 2 is all set to go on sets. The next schedule is planned for September and the team is in plans to replace Kajal Aggarwal with another actress. The makers are planning to release the film for Diwali 2023. Shankar is currently occupied with the shooting of Ram Charan’s RC15. As soon as that is covered, he will direct his attention to Indian 2.

With the Telugu Film Industry struggling to crack the theatrical market post-COVID-19, the OTT market has increased considerably. Especially the month of July, which is being reported as one of the if not the worst July Tollywood has ever seen.
OTT Releases This Month
The month started off with Pakka Commercial, starring Gopichand and Raashi Khanna. The film was heavily promoted and was marketed as an out-and-out entertainer. But post the release, the film was bashed by critics as well as audiences and the film crashed at the box office. Pakka Commercial is finally releasing on Netflix as well as Aha on 5th August.
Mathu Vadalara director fame Ritesh Rana’s Happy Birthday was released with Lavanya Tripathi in the lead role. Despite some decent performances and a wacky concept, the execution failed the team. The movie was instantly dismissed and posted poor collections. It is also releasing on Netflix on the 8th of August.
Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior suffered the same fate as the other films. An average screenplay, one-tone characters, and a routine story led to the failure of this cop-drama. Directed by N Linguswamy, the film was also a failure at the collections office. It releases on 11th August on the Disney+Hotstar platform.
Coming to the most underwhelming project of them all, according to the box office numbers, is Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You. The movie crashed on the opening day itself and was unanimously dismissed by audiences. It posted horrendous collections and has ended up as a huge loss for all parties involves. It releases on 20th August on Amazon Prime.
The latest release Ramarao On Duty might also hit the OTT route soon as the film has failed to attract audiences in theatres. The producer is in discussions for an early OTT release and is expected to stream in the month of August on the Sony Liv app.
నందమూరి ఇంట తీవ్ర విషాదం చోటు చేసుకుంది. దివంగత నటుడు నందమూరి తారక రామారావు కూతురు కంఠమనేని ఉమా మహేశ్వరి (52) ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్నారు. జూబ్లీహిల్స్ లోని తన నివాసంలో సోమవారం ఆవిడ ఉదయం ఫ్యాన్కు ఉరి వేసుకుని ప్రాణాలు తీసుకున్నారు అని తెలిసింది. సహజ మరణం కానందువల్ల మృతదేహాన్ని పోస్ట్మార్టం కోసం ఉస్మానియా ఆస్పత్రికి తరలించారు.
మానసిక ఒత్తిడితో పాటు అనారోగ్య సమస్యలతో బాధపడుతున్న కారణంగానే ఆమె ఉరేసుకున్నట్లు తెలుస్తోంది. ఉమా మహేశ్వరి మృతితో ఎన్టీఆర్ కుటుంబం తీవ్ర విషాదంలో మునిగిపోగా ఆమె మృతి పట్ల పలువురు ప్రముఖులు సంతాపం తెలుపుతున్నారు. ఉమా మహేశ్వరి సీనియర్ ఎన్టీఆర్కు నాలుగో కూతురు. ఇటీవలే ఆమె కూతురి వివాహం ఘనంగా జరిగింది.
అయితే ఉమా మహేశ్వరి మరణం పై ఆవిడ కూతురు దీక్షిత స్పందించారు. తన తల్లి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకోవడానికి ఆరోగ్య సమస్యలే కారణమని దీక్షిత తెలిపారు. ఉమామహేశ్వరి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న సమయంలో ఇంట్లో నలుగురు ఉన్నారట. మధ్యాహ్నం 12 గంటల సమయంలో తన గదిలోకి వెళ్లి తలుపు వేసుకున్నారని.. అయితే భోజనం సమయం అయినా కూడా బయటకు రాకపోవడంతో ఎం జరిగిందో అని తలుపులు తెరిచే ప్రయత్నం చేశామన్నారు. లోపలి నుంచి తలుపు గెడియ పెట్టుకున్నారన్నారు. ఇదిలా ఉండగా.. తన తల్లి ఆత్మహత్య చేసుకున్న సమయంలో ఇంట్లో తన తండ్రితో పాటు.. తన భర్త కూడా ఉన్నట్లు దీక్షిత తెలిపారు.
మరోవైపు తన తల్లి ఆత్మహత్య పై దీక్షిత పోలీసులకు ఫిర్యాదు చేసారు. కేసు నమోదు చేసిన పోలీసులు ఈ మేరకు అవసరమైన దర్యాప్తు ప్రారంభించారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఉమామహేశ్వరి మృతదేహం ఉస్మానియా ఆస్పత్రిలో ఉంది. రేపు ఉమామహేశ్వరి అంత్యక్రియలు నిర్వహించనున్నారు. ఉమామహేశ్వరి ఆత్మహత్యకు మానసిక ఒత్తిడి మరియు ఆరోగ్య సమస్యలే కారణమని తెలుస్తుంది. మరో వైపు ఆమె రెండు సార్లు వివాహం చేసుకున్నట్లు సమాచారం.

Manchu Vishnu has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. From quarreling with Prakash Raj during the MAA elections to the fights with the media. He has been the perfect meme material for meme pages.
But when we take a look at his movie career, it is at an all-time low. His last few ventures have failed miserably at the box office and no one seems to care about his upcoming project Ginna either. His last film to hit the big screens, Mosagallu was a disaster at the box office.
The first look of his next film Ginna was released a few weeks ago, where Vishnu was seen in a rugged avatar. He seems to be playing a more rough character in this film. It is being reported that Ginna will release along with Chiranjeevi’s Godfather.
The makers of Godfather have planned for a Dasara release and Vishnu is also looking at a potential Dasara release. This is a very bold decision, to say the least as Godfather is a highly anticipated film whereas Ginna is probably the least anticipated film. It is also being said that Nagarjuna’s Ghost is also releasing this Dasara.
The first glimpse of Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana was released a while ago and it has raised the audience’s curiosity. Just like its quirky name, the first look is also quite interesting and featured actor Shiva Kandukuri.
The film appears to be an investigative thriller and there were many interesting elements in the first look that caught attention. The film appears to have several mythological connotations and the BGM by Sricharan Pakala, and Vijay Bulganin sounded great.
Raj Purushottam is directing this film while Snehal Jangala , Shashidhar Kasi and Karthik Mudumbi are bankrolling it.
Bhoothaddam Bhaskar Narayana will star Rashi Singh as the female lead and it also co-stars Venkatesh Kakumanu, Devi, and Shafi among others. Further details about the project will be revealed soon.
Ravi Teja’s Ramarao On Duty was a disappointing fare for both him as well as fans. Fans were eager to see Mass Maharaja in a fresh avatar but the movie totally disappointed them. After making a superb comeback with Krack in 2021, the star actor delivered 2 back to back duds in the form of Khiladi and Ramarao On Duty.
Post the failure of Khiladi, the actor himself was looking for a hit which unfortunately didn’t happen, and the movie incurred heavy losses.
Ramarao On Duty is the biggest disaster in Ravi Tejas’s career and the producer, Sudhakar Cherukuri suffered terribly because of this. The actor promised the producer that he will another film on his banner without taking the remuneration. This has come as a huge relief for the producer for the moment.
Meanwhile, all eyes are set on the actor’s next releases Ravanasura, Dhamaka, and Tiger Nageswara Rao. Ravi Teja is hoping to break his flop streak with these films now. He will also be seen in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya which will be directed by KS Ravindra.
The last few weeks have been absolutely disappointing for Telugu cinema fans as well as filmmakers. Due to continuous disasters producers had a meeting and stopped the shootings to reduce the budget of the film.
Owing to this decision to stop the shooting of movies, over 30+ films are being stopped. Chiranjeevi’s Godfather, Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura, Ram Charan’s RC15, and Prabhas’ Project K to just name a few. The Guild has assured the makers that the shooting can be commenced in one to two weeks at the least.
No one knows when everything will get back on track but TFI needs a huge blockbuster now to prove the producer’s decision wrong. Most of the industry people are still feeling the content of the recent Telugu releases is bad hence the audience are not interested to watch the movie in theatres.
Many believe if the content is good then the audience will definitely come to theatres. Industry insiders, as well as fans, are hoping this weekend’s releases will change the situation. Both Sita Ramam and Bimbisara are carrying positive reports and if they get positive word of mouth, then Tollywood will certainly get that elusive hit.
Kanthamaneni Uma Maheshwari, Sr. NTR’s daughter, was found hanging on Monday at her home in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad. This morning, brother Nandamuri Balakrishna and nephew, actor Kalyan Ram were seen at her residence for the final rites.
According to media reports, she allegedly died by suicide on Monday due to health issues. However, the exact reason behind this decision is unknown. A case has been registered under section 174 of The Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
Uma Maheswari went to her room at lunchtime and didn’t come out for a while, according to her daughter. Dikshitha contacted the police, who arrived at her Jubilee Hills home around 2:30 in the afternoon. Uma was hanging from the ceiling fan in her room when the police arrived.
Uma Maheswari is survived by her daughter Dikshitha. Film industry. Senior NTR had four daughters and eight sons. The youngest of the four girls was Uma Maheswari.
