Bhairavam Movie Review: A Decent Action Drama

0

Movie Name: Bhairavam
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast:
Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, Nara Rohith, Aditi Shankar, and others
Director: Vijay Kanakamedala
Produced By:
K.K. Radha Mohan
Release Date: 30th May 2025

Bhairavam, an action drama starring Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas, Nara Rohith, and Manoj Manchu as the main leads, has hit the screens worldwide today, 30 May 2025. The film has generated good anticipation among audiences, and let us delve into the details of the film in our Bhairavam Review.

Story:

The story of Bhairavam revolves around three friends — Varada, Gajapathi, and Seenu — who encounter turmoil when a politician targets ₹1000 crore in Temple land, forcing them into a struggle against betrayal.

Performances:

The lead roles in Bhairavam go to famous actors Manchu Manoj, Nara Rohith, and Bellamkonda Sreenivas. Srinivas portrays a nuanced character unlike his typical roles. In the first half, he seems normal, but in the second half, he gains strength and leaves a significant impression.

Manchu Manoj returns to the big screen after a long absence, but his role lacks a powerful impact. The actor is fine and tries to provide the right intensity, but it turns out consistently loud. Nara Rohith suits his character well. He emerges as the best of the three leads. He performs earnestly and brings emotional depth.

Aditi Shankar primarily appears in songs, while Aanandi is okay. Divya Pillai is noticeable. Jayasudha is fine in her minor role as a grandmother. Ajay, Sampath Raj, and Sandeep Raj are fine.

Analysis:

Director Vijay Kanakamedala starts Bhairavam (Garudan’s remake), in an old-fashioned way, but despite the swift plot progression, it lacks depth in character development and feels superficial. The pre-interval episode involving temple ornaments and property documents is impressive. The lengthy action segment at the interval is executed well.

The second half starts with an unnecessary song, but the Mamidi Thota episode later brings in a major twist for a lead character, creating a tense atmosphere that engages the audience. The following emotion works well too. To enhance the climax, the director introduces a divine element for Bellamkonda’s role. The outcome falls short but remains satisfactory.

Positives:

  • Three Leads’ Performance
  • Second Half
  • Fights

Negatives:

  • Initial Outdated Feel
  • Comedy/Filler Scenes
  • Few Crucial Scenes miss the mark

Bhairavam Movie Review and Verdict:

Bhairavam is a decent action drama that offers well-placed emotional moments and mass blocks. The three lead actors perform effectively. Though the film suffers with some underwhelming parts and dull moments, it still ends up as a one-time watch.

Vijay’s cinema journey ends

0

Kollywood Actor Vijay, fondly called Thalapathy Vijay, showed his dominance and continued as the Top Star for nearly two decades in the Film Industry. The Actor has surprisingly taken the path of Politics, establishing his political outfit, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), last year. He also announced his retirement from films with his upcoming film, Jana Nayagan.

The shoot of Jana Nayagan is happening, and it is learnt that Vijay has finished his portions from the film. With this, Vijay’s cinema journey has officially come to an end, and his focus now will only be on politics. This is surely a disappointing moment for the fans and audience. Vijay, as said, delivered many memorable and big blockbusters over the years, and his absence will be a big miss for the Film Industry.

Jana Nayagan has already been announced as a Sankranthi release next year. So, this will be a very good release period, and the film may also shatter many records. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film is a remake of the Tollywood film, Bhagavanth Kesari, starring Balakrishna. Jana Nayagan also stars Pooja Hegde and Mamitha Baiju in crucial roles.

Hit 3 starring Nani became a good venture for the team. The film also grossed more than 100 crores worldwide. It is also streaming on Netflix in all languages.

Hit 3 on OTT: The real test begins now

0

Recent Tollywood film, Hit 3 starring Nani became a good success, grossing more than 100 crores worldwide. It also became Nani’s second-highest grosser after his Dasara. The film has also arrived on Netflix yesterday, and it has to perform well.

The film didn’t receive unanimous positive response from critics and audience. The team hopes to dominate the OTT platform at least, which Nani’s films usually do. Hit 3 must also trend big to continue the hype for the franchise. The next film in the franchise was also announced with Karthi as the lead, which was also teased in the climax of Hit 3.

Hit 3 must also attract the Tamil audience to help the franchise expand in the Tamil Nadu market as well. So, the film must trend at the top on Netflix. Directed by Sailesh Kolanu, the film also stars Srinidhi Shetty in the female lead, produced by Nani under his Wall Poster Cinema banner.

The film has registered stunning advance sales and crossed the 5 crores gross mark. This is indeed a great achievement. But what left fans and audience in shock is the removal of few crucial scenes from the re-release print in the premiere shows. Many even reported this on their social media handles, which have also trended. The team has finally identified this issue and addressed this as well. These removed scenes will be added soon, as announced by the team.

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has taken a firm stand against the release of ‘Thug Life’ in the state, demanding a public apology from Kamal for his controversial comment on Kannada.

The language sentiment is a big and sensitive issue in South India, and knowingly or unknowingly, the Indian 2 actor triggered a set of Kannada public with his statement. The Kannada industry threatens a ban on Thug Life and warns Kamal Haasan.

Kannada Film Industry Angry on Kamal: Warns Ban on Thug Life

Following discussions with members of the Kannada film industry, KFCC President M. Narasimhalu addressed the media and stated that efforts are being made to directly engage with the veteran actor. “Many Kannada groups have demanded a ban on his movie. So, we met and discussed the matter, and we’ve decided that he should apologize. We agree that what he did was wrong, and we are trying to meet and talk to him,” Narasimhalu said.

Former KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu warned of intensified protests if no apology is made. “We have no sympathy for Kamal Haasan. If he does not issue a public apology today or tomorrow, we will support Kannada activists and will protest fiercely. Under no circumstances will we allow the film’s release unless he apologizes publicly,” he asserted.

Kamal’s Statement about Tamil and Kanada Triggers Negative Reactions from Kannada Public

The anger among the Kannada public arose from Kamal Haasan’s recent remark during a Thug Life promotional event, in which he asserted that “Kannada was born out of Tamil.” His remarks have sparked strong criticism from pro-Kannada organizations and language advocates.

But their wishes have been heard now as the upcoming film is known to be a romantic one.

Happening Actress Rukmini Vasanth is also said to have come on board the film to play the female lead role. It is also learnt that Lyca Productions will be producing the film. Further details of the film will be announced soon.

Mahesh Babu’s re-release rampage: 4 films enter 5 crore club

0

Tollywood Blockbuster Pokiri started the re-release mania in Telugu States in recent years. A few other films also followed the trend, becoming successful, and a few made no impact. But Mahesh Babu’s all re-releases did great at the box office, creating a euphoria.

As said, very few films crossed the 5 crore gross mark in the re-release category. Out of these, half belong to Mahesh Babu, which is stunning. Till now, his re-releases, Businessman, Murari and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu collected more than 5 crores gross. These films have also been trended on social media platforms on their release day.

Now, Khaleja is set to re-release tomorrow, and the film has already grossed 5 crores with its advance sales alone. Khaleja also became Mahesh Babu’s 4th re-release film to enter this club. The film will also have premieres tonight. The film has also recorded good advance bookings for the entire weekend. Many expect that the film may also enter the 10 crore gross club.
