0

The Telugu audiences were excited when Rana and Venkatesh Daggubati joined for a web series named Rana Naidu. The first season received huge viewership along with negative response, and the Telugu audience’s interest dips for Rana Naidu 2.

In the OTT era, web content carries a huge demand, as the viewers are highly engaged and interested in watching web series and other content. The Telugu viewers also got accustomed to watching the OTT content.

Rana Naidu Season 2 fails to excite Telugu Audiences

As said above, a huge anticipation was there among Telugu fans before the streaming of Rana Naidu Season 1, but after its arrival, it received huge viewership but received harsh criticism from Telugu audiences, and even Venkatesh faced the heat for acting in it.

The second season of the web series was released yesterday, but somehow the Telugu audience’s interest dips for Rana Daggubati’s Rana Naidu 2, as they did not show much interest in watching it. The anticipation among the Telugu Cinema fans and OTT viewers for season 2 is comparatively low.

Rana Naidu Season 2 receives average reviews, much like its predecessor

This is due to the result of season 1, as it was not enjoyed by the traditional fanbase of Venkatesh, and it did not end with a strong lead for the second season.

The second season of Rana Naidu also received average reviews from most critics, which also adds another factor to Telugu audiences not showing interest in watching it.

Allu Arjun and Trivikram have been on the Headlines for a few days in the Telugu Film Media

Multiple versions are coming in the news due to the differences between Trivikram and Allu Arjun. It is widely known that the Pushpa actor and ALVP director announced the film, but the actor put Trivi on hold for Atlee’s big project, which hurt the former.

As a result, Trivikram and team made an immediate announcement of the same film with NTR as the lead. Surprisingly, there was no mention about when the film would go on sets, and neither was there a special occasion to announce the film.

AA-Trivi4 went to NTR

Everyone knows that NTR is very busy for the next three years, but still, the NTR-Trivikram film was suddenly announced. On the other side, after the announcement of this film, the AA compound responded with another piece of news.

Reports suggested that Allu Arjun had listened to a super subject by Basil Joseph, and he liked it. Even Allu Arjun will certainly take time with this film or make a decision. But the intention is to produce news about his next film in the media.

Supreme Court Steps In Over Alleged Threats to Thug Life Screening in Karnataka

0

It is widely known that Thug Life, the latest film of Kamal Haasan, faced a ban in Karnataka because of a controversial statement of the actor. Now, the Supreme Court steps in and responds to the alleged threats to Thug Life screening in Karnataka.

On Friday, June 13, the Supreme Court told the State of Karnataka to respond to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that questions the ‘extra-judicial ban’ on screening the Tamil movie Thug Life, featuring Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam.

A bench comprising Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Manmohan posted the petition, filed by one Mahesh Reddy, for next Tuesday. The Supreme Court steps in and responds to the alleged threats to the Thug Life screening in Karnataka.

The petitioner’s lawyer argued that Karnataka has surrendered to extremists targeting linguistic minorities and demanding theater burnings if Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life gets screened.

“It is argued that a duly CBFC-certified Tamil feature film, “Thug Life,” is not allowed to be screened in the theaters in the State of Karnataka. The so-called ban under threat of violence stems not from any lawful process but from a deliberate campaign of terror, including explicit threats of arson against cinema halls and incitement of large-scale violence targeting linguistic minorities. Considering the urgency shown and the issue brought before this court, we issue notice to the respondent,” the bench observed in the order.

Thug Life Ban in Karnataka: Kamal Haasan seeked the help of Court earlier

On June 9, Advocate Navpreet Kaur, representing the petitioner, highlighted the urgent need for listing due to the ‘law and order situation in Karnataka.’

“Fringe elements and organizations are giving an open threat to set the theaters on fire if they display a Tamil movie. Such is the intensity of the threats…we are here seeking protection for cinemas and theaters,” the counsel submitted.

Re-Release Battle: Andala Rakshasi Dominates Over Tholi Prema

0

Nowadays, re-releases are helping the theaters to bring in a decent number of audiences, and the single screens are mainly getting good footfalls. This week, there are two major rereleases, and Andala Rakshasi dominates Pawan Kalyan’s Tholi Prema in the re-release battle.

This weekend should have been a big festival for audiences, as Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu was announced to arrive on June 12th. However, the film was postponed at the last minute, and it resulted in a dry weekend.

Andala Rakshasi wins over Tholi Prema in the Re-Release Battle

As said above, Hanu Raghavapudi’s Andala Rakshasi dominates Pawan Kalyan’s Tholi Prema in this week’s re-release battle. Surprisingly, the love story sees extraordinary occupancy in theaters in big cities like Hyderabad, Vizag, and Vijayawada.

Even in other centers, the film received a good response. On the other side, Tholi Prema also received a decent response, but it is mostly limited to a few fan shows.

Tholi Prema sees a decent response for a Second Re-Release, but gets dominated by Andala Rakshasi

Andala Rakshasi emerges as the winner this weekend at the theaters. The main advantage for this film is that it is getting re-released for the first time, whereas Tholiprema has been re-released multiple times.

That is why even audiences preferred to watch Andala Rakshais, as they felt it was a fresh choice.

Rana Naidu Season 2 Review – A patchy drama with a few highlights

0

Web Series Name: Rana Naidu Season 2
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Rana Daggubati, Daggubati Venkatesh, Arjun Rampal, Surveen Chawla, Kriti Kharbanda, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, and Dino Morea and others
Director: Suparn Verma, Karan Anshuman
Streaming on: Netflix

Rana Naidu’s first season, which was loosely based on the American television series Ray Donovan, was criticized (Mainly by Telugu audiences) for using frequent profanity by Venkatesh, a beloved acter of family viewers. However, Rana Naidu Season 2 presents a more subdued depiction of him and the other characters as well.

The show was a success and got good viewership for Netflix. Now, let us check how much better Rana Naidu Season 2 is compared to the first one in our review.

Story:

Rana Naidu (Rana Daggubati) gives up his job as a fixer and wants to live in harmony with his family. However, things begin to go out of his hands as his son is abducted. Rana then joins billionaire Vikram Oberoi (played by Rajat Kapoor) to secure his family.

Vikram’s daughter Alia Oberoi (Krithi Kharbanda) wants to own a cricket team. Meanwhile, Rauf Bhai (Arjun Rampal), a local don, gets out of jail because of politician OB Mahajan (Rajesh Jais) and vows revenge on Rana. Rana. What harm does Rana do to Rauf? Can Rana protect his family along with dealing with the inner turmoil with his wife? How does Naga, his father, help or trouble him? The rest of the series has answers to the above questions.

Performances:

Rana maintains the intensity with his eyes. Even though he occasionally comes across as flat, his acting is impressive, and he does the action scenes flawlessly. Though his character takes the backseat, Venkatesh entertains with his dialogues, using the Hyderabadi slang in a few places, along with the emotional parts here and there.

Arjun Rampal and Kriti Kharbanda perform well and add value to the characters, while Surveen Chawla and Abhishek Banerjee are good. Dino Morea, Rajat Kapoor, Tanuj Virwani, and others are apt.

Analysis:

Rana Naidu 2 is more personal in its second edition. The lead character, Rana, who fixes problems for celebrities, has to deal with a threatening nemesis who hunts his family. His relationship with his wife, Naina, gets more bitter, while his son, Ani, and daughter, Nitya, also face some problems.

The series is more focused on drama this time. It does not waste time and gets into the story right from the beginning. The turmoil that Rana goes through because of getting attacked in every corner is well established. However, the twists and turns are not great here.

The proceedings after a solid start come across as ordinary. There is not much excitement or tension even when the hero’s family is indulged in a web of problems. The revenge of Rauf does not have much weight, and Naga’s character does not come across as lively as it was in the first season.

We know that Rana is the number one fixer, and he can handle any big problem that threatens him or his family. So, we are not scared of any danger for him, nor do we expect some unexpected development to happen.

However, the finale episodes work well, and the ending hints at a strong premise for the third season, hinting at the rise of Naga. Overall, Rana Naidu Season 2 ends up as a patchy drama with a few highlights.

Positives:

  • Initial Setup
  • Last Two Episodes
  • Few Crucial Scenes/Dialogues

Negatives:

  • Predictable/Ordinary Moments
  • Inadequate Action Parts
  • Unexciting Game between the Hero and Villains

Rana Naidu Season 2 Review and Verdict:

This time, Rana Naidu Season 2 aims to be more accurate and efficient. It has a good beginning, some pivotal scenes, and the final two episodes, which work well. But the predictable plot and uninteresting game between the villains and the hero make it an ordinary affair.

Peddi set to hit theaters solo – The Paradise likely to postpone

0

The recent news of Peddi and The Paradise going for a clash shocked fans and audience. Both the films looked promising and content-rich rich and this clash looked as unwanted, which may damage each film’s potential. On the other hand, the shoot schedule of The Paradise was planned in May but it has not started yet.

Akhanda 2’s 200 crore budget doesn’t scare Producers – Here’s why!

0

Akhanda 2 starring Balakrishna is one of the most anticipated films of Tollywood. The film is also a sequel to the blockbuster film, Akhanda, which was released in 2021. The team is also said to have spent 200 crore on the budget of Akhanda 2, which is a shocking number for Senior Actors. But the Producers have different thoughts.

Despite the massive budget, the Makers believe that they are in a comfortable position due to the business potential of the film. There is a huge demand for both Theatrical and Non-Theatrical rights of the film. From Non-theatrical rights alone, the makers are expecting 100 crores, and the offers also are close to this number. Telugu version’s Theatrical rights will surely be more than 100 crores which will put them in a safe zone.

The Makers have also started publicizing the film in the Hindi markets. There are also plans to release the film in all prominent languages of the country simultaneously. The combo of both Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu adds a great hype to the film, and it also has all the chances to become a sensational blockbuster if the content is promising.
