Multiple films and Web Series’s are streaming on OTT in this weekend

The Telugu audience has got various options to enjoy in this weekend. Many interesting films and web series are streaming on OTT platforms like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney plus Hot star and more. While the theaters are being with the historical masterpiece Ponniyin Selvam 2 aka PS2, the world of digital will offer web series like Priyanka Chopra’s spy thriller Citadel, Telugu Web Series Vyavastha, starring Hebah Patel (Zee5) and Save The Tigers (Disney+Hotstar) are also streaming on OTT.

Coming to the movies, after making noise at the box office, movies like Dasara and Pathu Thala, Viduthalai Part 1 are now streaming on OTT this weekend. Moreover, new films like U-Turn and Thuramukhan have made their way to online release.

Citadel is an espionage series featuring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden. The first two episodes of this long-awaited show will be released on April 28, after which new episodes will be broadcast every Friday until May 26. In Citadel, Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Nadia Singh, while Richard Madden will be seen in the character of Mason Kane. Citadel is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Dasara is a raw and rustic movie starring Nani, Deekshith Shetty and Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles. The story takes place in a village called Veerlapally, surrounded by Telangana’s Singareni coal mines. The politics of the village are centered around the Silk Bar. How the lives of Dharani, Soori and Vennela got affected by these things forms the rest of the story. Dasara is now streaming on the Netflix Platform.

The action thriller ‘Pathu Thala’ stars Simbu aka Silambarasan as Don A G R in the film. The story revolves around Simbu, which is a dreaded dob and has successfully established a network that is an impenetrable fortress. The Tamil movie also presents actors Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar in pivotal roles. This movie is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

Blockbuster Virupaksha is now releasing in Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi languages

Sai Dharam Tej has scored a blockbuster with his latest release, Virupaksha. The film has received terrific openings and it showed good hold at the box office after opening weekend and it is on the way to become the biggest hit in Sai Dharam Tej’s career. Now the film is releasing in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi languages.

The makers have shared this news on social media today. In Hindi, Virupaksha will be released by Goldmines Telefilms, and in Tamil it will be released by Studio Green Production House. E4 Entertainment movies will release Virupaksha in Malayalam language. Though the makers have not disclosed the release date of Virupaksha in other languages, it is almost certain that it will be released on May 5th.

Virupaksha story is set in the mystic village Rudravanam where Surya comes with his mother to meet his family. He falls in love with Nandini. Love starts to start blossom between them but suddenly the village people get killed one by one in suspicious circumstances. Surya starts chasing the mystery behind the mysterious deaths of the village. How does he gets to solve this mystery is what forms the rest of the story.

This movie has an ensemble cast of Sai Dharam Tej, Samyuktha Menon, Ajay, Rajeev Kanakala, Sai Chand, Brahmaji and Sunil. It was released in theaters on April 21st,2023. Virupaksha is directed by Karthik Dandu and is produced by BVSN Prasad under the banners of Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings. B Ajaneesh Lokanath composed music for the film.

Andrea Jeremiah’s casting was revealed today. She plays the character called Jasmine, in this movie. In the poster, we see Andrea dressed in black and pointing a gun at the audience.

The famous Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will be seen in an important role in the movie. It is very well known that Venkatesh was seen in the ‘Rana Naidu’ Web Series, from which he also has got fans from the north, and the makers of Saindhav are going to use it. The film is produced by Venkat Boyanapalli’s Niharika Entertainment. Santosh Narayanan is composing the music of Saindhav while S Manikandan is in handling the cinematography. The film will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi languages on December 22.

Though Andrea Jeremiah is known in both Telugu and Tamil languages, she has acted in only one Telugu Film, Naga Chaitanya and Sunil’s Tadakha (2013).

It is very well known to everyone that Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan’s first part became a blockbuster at the box office, but everyone, including the Tamil audience, had felt the direction should have been better as considering the movie’s genre, he failed to provide the required high moments in the movie and there by the audience were unable to connect to content in the movie.

This feeling led to the below par advance bookings of its sequel Ponniyin Selvan 2. After seeing the underwhelming response at the bookings, everyone had thought PS 2 will end up as a box office failure. Today the film released in the theaters and Mani Ratnam has surprised everyone by giving an epic comeback as he delivered solid content, and he also extracted Extraordinary performances from the actors. Story: Arunmozhi Varman (Jayam Ravi) and Vallavaraiyan Vandhiyadevan (Karthi), who were assumed dead after drowning into the sea while fighting with Pandyas, get saved by a mute woman named Mandakini (Aishwarya Rai). Later, Arunmozhi Varman gets treated by Buddhas in Lanka. At the same time, Nandhini (Aishwarya Rai), along with the Pandyas, plans a conspiracy to finish the Chola dynasty. In the meantime, the chieftains of the Chola dynasty try to make Madhuranthakan (Rehman) the Chola King by dethroning Aditha Karikalan (Vikram). Will Nandini be successful in her plans? Who is Mandakini? Did Arunmozhi and Vallavaraiyan Vandhiyadevan return to the Chola dynasty? The answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis: PS 2 starts off with a terrific prologue that shows the young Aditha Karikalan’s first meeting with orphan girl Nandini, who newly moves into the kingdom and catches the eye of the Chola Prince. This opening sequence makes the audience emotionally involved in the movie. Thereafter, though slow, the narration was able to get the drama around the throne of the Chola Kingdom and the conspiracies behind it. The interval episode could have been more powerful, but it still had an impact. In the second half, Ponniyin Selvan 2 had some of the best moments of it. The post-interval sequence was good, a few suspense-revealing moments also came good, and the penultimate face-off between Aditha and Nandini is the best episode of the movie where Mani Ratnam shows his magic.

Performances: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Vikram got ample scope to show their acting prowess, and they did a terrific job. Trisha was impressive, and Jayam Ravi was fine in the titular role. Karthi gets less screentime in this movie, but he too had a few entertaining moments. Prakash Raj, Rahman, Sarath Kumar, Parthiban, Kishore, Jaya Chitra, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi were apt.

Verdict: Overall, Ponniyin Selvan 2 is surely better than its first part, though the slow narration and a few stretched-out sequences work against it, the film consists of some fascinating and properly etched emotional sequences. The engaging story, drama between the characters, and terrific performances work well for the movie.

దాదాపు రెండేళ్ల తర్వాత అఖిల్ అక్కినేని నటించిన ఏజెంట్ ఎట్టకేలకు ఈ రోజు ప్రేక్షకుల ముందుకు వచ్చింది. ఈ సినిమా పై చిత్ర యూనిట్ తో పాటు అక్కినేని అభిమానులు కూడా భారీ అంచనాలు పెట్టుకున్నారు. ఈ సినిమాను భారీ ఎత్తున తెరకెక్కించారు. అఖిల్ తన మాట మీద నిలబడి పెద్ద హిట్ ఇచ్చారా? అనుకున్నట్టే ఈ సినిమా ఆయన కెరీర్ కు టర్నింగ్ పాయింట్ గా నిలుస్తుందా లేదా? తెలుసుకుందాం.

కథ: రిక్కీ (అఖిల్) చాలా ప్యాషన్ తో నిండి ఉన్న ఒక రకమైన క్రూరత్వం ఆపాదించుకున్న ఒక యువకుడు. ఒక సంఘటన కారణంగా చిన్నప్పటి నుంచి రా ఏజెంట్ అవ్వాలనుకుంటాడు రిక్కీ. మహదేవ్ (మమ్ముట్టి) రిక్కీ తన శిష్యుడిగా ఎంచుకుని రోగ్ గా మారిన ఒక మాజీ ఏజెంట్ డెవిల్ (డినో మోరియా) ను పట్టుకునే మిషన్ అప్పగిస్తాడు. డెవిల్ తలపెట్టిన ఒక మిషన్ రిక్కీ వల్ల విఫలం కావడంతో రిక్కీనే డెవిల్ యొక్క టార్గెట్ గా మారతాడు. రిక్కీ ఈ సమస్యను ఎలా పరిష్కరిస్తాడు, తన దేశానికి ఎలా సేవ చేస్తాడు అనేదే మిగతా కథ.

విశ్లేషణ: ఏజెంట్ ప్లాట్ లైన్ చాలా ఆసక్తికరంగా ఉండటంతో పాటు అఖిల్ క్యారెక్టరైజేషన్ ని ఫుల్ ఎనర్జీతో ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ గా డిజైన్ చేశారు. అఖిల్ పాత్ర ఊహించలేని పనులు చేసే విధానాన్ని చాలా స్టైలిష్ గా చూపించారు. కానీ సరైన స్క్రీన్ ప్లేతో ఆడియన్స్ ని ఎంగేజ్ చేయడంలో దర్శకుడు సురేందర్ రెడ్డి ఫెయిల్ అయ్యారు. ఒక స్పై థ్రిల్లర్ కు ట్విస్ట్ లు, స్ట్రాంగ్ విలన్ కావాలి. ఏజెంట్ లో అవే లోపించాయి. ఫస్ట్ ఫ్రేమ్ నుంచి సన్నివేశాలు అన్నీ చాలా ఊహాజనితంగా, కొన్ని సన్నివేశాలు పూర్తిగా అసంబద్ధంగా ఉండి కథనాన్ని చాలా ఊహాజనితంగా రూపొందించినట్లు అయింది. ఇక పాటలు, బ్యాక్ గ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ సినిమాకి బిగ్గెస్ట్ మైనస్ లు కాగా, ప్రేక్షకుల సహనాన్ని పరీక్షించే లవ్ ట్రాక్ కూడా అలాగే ఉండింది. నిర్మాణ విలువలు కూడా ఇంత బడ్జెట్, గ్రాండ్ స్కేల్ ఉన్న సినిమాకు సరిపోలేదనే చెప్పాలి. అఖిల్ చాలా బాగా నటించారు, తనతో పాటుగా లెజెండరీ నటుడు మమ్ముట్టి మినహా, సినిమాలోని అన్ని అంశాలు చాలా పెద్ద స్థాయిలో విఫలమయ్యాయి. ఇక సినిమాలో చాలా బోరింగ్ ట్రాక్ గా మారిన లవ్ ట్రాక్ లో ఉండటం వల్ల సాక్షి వైద్య పాత్ర ఎలాంటి ఇంపాక్ట్ క్రియేట్ చేయలేకపోయింది.

The Kashmir Files was one of the biggest hits of 2022 and proved what positive word of mouth can do to a movie’s collections. The movie emerged as a blockbuster and earned Rs 250 crore plus at box office while being made with a budget of around Rs 20 crores.

The movie had divided opinions and while many appreciated the film’s take on the Kashmir genocide, others termed it a propaganda movie.
