Story: Rocky Randhawa (Ranveer Singh) and Rani Chatterjee (Alia Bhatt), hail from two different cultured families who fall in love through the process of setting a reunion for their grandparents, Kanwal (Dharmendra) and Jamini (Shabana Azmi). After falling in love, they took a bit of time to get their relationship to the next level and decide to stay with each other’s families to impress their parents. How do the two of them win over each other’s family? What do they learn and discover through the process of family swap? Answers to these questions form the rest of the story.

Analysis: The film’s narrative is set as a proper love story that indulges both the families after a while. It is a known fact that Karan Johar has a strong connection with this genre, and he once again cracks a good entertainer with RRKPK. Rocky and Rani’s introduction is done well. The romantic track in the first half works, even though the intimacy between the lead pair looks rushed. The entire birthday episode, followed by the Kashmir sequence and the patch up of the lead pair came out well with the usage of old Hindi songs.

The second half expectedly takes a bit of a serious turn, with leads changing into each other’s homes. But there are a few truly hilarious moments, as whenever the pace tends to dip, the atmosphere gets changed with a punch in the dialogues. The emotional drama between both the families in the second half works, towards the pre climax, though we can guess where the film is heading. The climax also hits the target. The drama that follows the Dhindhora sequence is effective in creating the right impact.

Performances: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt looked good as a pair and their performance was also nice. Aamir Bashir was natural while Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan were perfect.

Verdict:

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani ticks all the boxes of a perfect Bollywood romantic family entertainer. Though the basic plot and a few parts appear predictable, the film gets the things right with a good balance of fun and emotions.

The film has opened with excellent numbers on Overseas premiers and in the Telugu states. The word of mouth has been largely positive and despite some jarring weaknesses like Trivikram’s sloppy dialogues and characterizations of other actors, it is Pawan Kalyan’s stardom ad charisma that has shouldered the film well.

Keeping the content aside, the screen presence and performance of Pawan Kalyan is a treat to fans and audiences. Pawan excelled in dance, comedy, and dialogue and he has given more than 100% for the film. The vintage charm and ease of Pawan Kalyan were at display after a long time. The film is definitely a great watch for fans and will be more than 100% satisfactory film for them.

Pawan Kalyan’s Bro: The Avatar has finally hit the screens today and fans excitement and euphoria to catch Powerstar on the big screen is at its peak. Directed by Samuthirakani, this fantasy entertainer has been written by Trivikram, whose writing has once again come under criticism.

Trivikram has handled the screenplay and dialogues for this film and enough changes have been made from the original to suit Telugu nativity. Trivikram is famous for prasa dialogues from the beginning but in recent films, few dialogues seem to be very forced and unnecessary with silly lines. Trivikram is now facing criticism for the dialogues in the movie as the film lacks his standard emotional and powerful dialogues and is instead filled with unnecessary and forced one-liners that add no value to the proceedings. Powerstar Pawan Kalyan returns to the silver screen after almost an year and half with his nephew Sai Dharam Tej under Samuthirikani’s direction with a fantasy entertainer Bro The Avatar. Let’s find out if he is able to entertain the audiences or not.

Story: Mark (Sai Dharam Tej) is the head of the family with two sisters, a brother and mother. He has big plans ahead in his life but an abrupt accident puts a dent in that. Pawan Kalyan enters as Time and gives Mark a 90 day grace period. What Mark does with this 90 day period is the rest of the movie.

Analysis:

Samuthirikani takes up a good concept and adds commercial elements to the film in the form of Pawan Kalyan’s Character but the movie gets diluted with too much focus on Pawan’s old songs and references. Even though there are some sequences which are whistle worthy moments to fans, after a point too many references dilute the plot of the movie in the second half. Background Score by Thaman is the main highlight of the movie. Songs are pretty average. Production values are poor. Surprisingly, wizard of words Trivikram failed to leave his mark with his dialogues. Dialogues are poorly written with unnecessary focus on ‘Prasa’.

Performances: Power Star Pawan Kalyan brings unlimited energy through his character and he is the main driving force of the movie. He shows up in different getups to Mark. Sai Dharam Tej is good and his scenes with Pawan came out really well. Priya Prakash Varrier, Rohini and Ketika Sharma play the other important roles and they are good.

Verdict:

Overall the film appeals to Power Star fans because of plenty of his old movies references and his chemistry with Sai Tej in fun scenes was also a treat, but the film fails to get the family emotions part right which effects its main message at the end. The film is an average fare to the nuetral audiences.

For a few days, his indirect war with Sai Rajesh’s film, Baby is continuing, and today he has involved in another controversy as he called a netizen as MK (abusive word in Telugu) who was trolling Vishwak Sen by using abusive language. Netizens have made the tweet viral now.

Earlier, Vishwak Sen indirectly reacted to speculations about him refusing to be a part of Baby The Movie! Allu Arjun recently revealed that an actor has refused to even meet for the film’s narration in the film’s success event. He did not take the name of Vishwak but everyone had understood that he had targeted the latter. So when Vishwak Sen reacted to this controversy in another small film’s event, the video went viral and a netizen had abused him, to which Vishwak replied MK, which is also an abusive word.

Before that, Vishwak reacted to the Baby film unit and Allu Arjun’s comments indirectly saying, “When there is clarity on what we are doing, we would rather not waste the time of others as well. I would rather not listen to the narration for one hour and then say no. That was my personal choice. Some people felt bad about it and started criticizing me for not listening to the narration.”

It is known that Power Star Pawan Kalyan made interesting comments on Kollywood while speaking at the pre-release event of ‘Bro’. Pawan Kalyan had requested the Tamil film industry that opportunities should be given to actors of all languages and not just Tamil actors. He said that, please let people from other languages come into the Tamil industry, then only you will have the opportunity to grow. Pawan Kalyan has suggested that we will not be able to rise to the top if we impose rules like that.

Naturally, there was a massive uproar over these comments. Nadigar Sangam president Nassar responded to Pawan’s comments and made appealing comments. He said that there appears to be a misinformation being circulated on social media right now. There is a rumor that people from other languages have been banned from working in the Tamil industry. Nassar said that if such a provision is brought in, he will be the first one to condemn and oppose it.

Nassar said there are no boundaries between the film industry and artists. It is being deliberately misrepresented by someone. “My brother Pawan Kalyan also said the same thing on stage. He must have been given wrong information by someone” said Nassar.

On this occasion, Nassar supported Roja’s husband Selvamani. “The rules laid down by Selvamani are not for actors. He put that rule for film workers,” Nasser said. He said that the rules stated when someone is making a Tamil film, they should have Tamil technicians, but no one said no to people from the other languages. Nassar also stated now there is no such thing as a language and all have become pan-Indian films.

The renowned actor also said the usage of OTT has increased nowadays and at such a time like this, who will bring such provisions? “The Tamil industry has roped in many artists and technicians from other languages. I thought that SV Ranga Rao garu, Savitri garu, Vani Sri garu, Sharada Amma garu and many others were from Tamil. After a long time, I came to know that they are from Andhra. So this propaganda that is coming up now has no meaning. Now the whole world is waiting for our films. Let’s all make bigger films than Baahubali and RRR together” Nassar said.
