Story: The story of Taali revolves around the life of transgender activist Gauri Sawant, who is played by Sushmita Sen. The series shows her struggles In fighting for her community and getting them included as the third gender in every document in India.

Analysis:

Taali is definitely a crucial show in today’s time. The country had no recognition for eunuchs until 2014. any legal documents did not support their existence. They were prohibited from adopting, marrying, driving, or receiving any government benefits. Today, you can always find an ‘other’ option on application forms, alongside both male and female options. Shreegauri Sawant’s petition to the Supreme Court for legal recognition was the only reason for this happening. In 2014, the Supreme Court identified the rights of the transgender community as a “third gender”. Taali tries to present her life in six episodes.

The series entirely relies on the shoulders of actress Sushmita Sen, who plays Sawant with the intensity and elegance required. Despite her noble efforts, Taali struggles to rise above the formulaic narrative. The web series, which was written by Kshitij Patwardhan, somehow shows the incidents in a confined way, leaving the viewers wanting more.

The attempt of giving a filmy touch worked in a few parts, like “Bajaungi nahi, Bajwaungi…”, but it looked like too out of the place”In logo ne meri makeup kiya he, shaam tak mein inka packup karti hoon!”

Performances: Sushmita Sen was too good and though at a few places she looked odd she fitted into her character very well. Krutika Deo was natural while Nitish Rathore, Ankur Bhatia, Aishwarya Narkar were fine.

Plus Points:

  • Few Electrifying Moments

Minus Points:

  • Lack Of Emotional Depth
  • Bland Narrative

Verdict:

Taali Web Series has a few effective moments which work well, and a superb performance by Sushmita Sen also acts as a strong pillar for it. But a tad too ordinary taking for the most of the parts does not allow the series to impress the viewers. You can watch it for the performance of Sushmita Sen and the noble plot.

Kartikeya’s character, who is returning from a city, confronts the arrogant duo played by Goparaju Ramana and Ajay Ghosh. Srikanth Iyengar and ‘Auto’ Ram Prasad, along with the latter, join forces to trick the gullible villagers and make money out of it. Neha Shetty, who is renowned for her role in ‘DJ Tillu’, appears as the female lead.

Mani Sharma has recently stated that his songs and background score for the film are his best work. The dramedy also has Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Vennela Kishore (he is a news presenter along with ‘Getup’ Srinu) and LB Sriram in important roles.

Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, who has previously made the National Award-winning ‘Color Photo’, is the producer of this film, which is presented by C Yuvaraju.

This year’s Independence Day, the national holiday which is considered as the most profitable day for films, was once again flooded with a humongous number of audiences in the theaters nationwide. Rajinikanth’s Jailer rocked at the south box office, While Gadar 2 and OMG 2 had put big numbers at the overall Indian box office.

Overall all movies together have put on a massive 150Cr+ gross at Indian Cinema on Independence Day. Gadar 2 was the major contributor followed by Jailer, OMG 2 which had a solid hold, Rocky AUR Rani Kii premi ki kahaani, Bhola Shankar and some minor contributions from other films.

After recording a superb first weekend at the box office, Gadar 2, Jailer and OMG 2 have marked one of the largest Independence Day collections yesterday. By helping theaters get a boost in collections after an annoying first half of 2023, the combined collections of the movie have hit the Rs 150 crore brand on Tuesday.

Besides the three new releases, films like Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Bhola Shankar and Oppenheimer also drew the audiences into the theaters and helped the box office collections grow to new heights. Especially, Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 earned over Rs 55 Crore. Due to house-full bookings in many areas, accommodation issues were caused by the film that has become a rage on single screens. The film has gathered over Rs 225 crore in just 5 days.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer has turned out to be a remarkable comeback for the veteran star with the film on its course to become the new all-time blockbuster in Kollywood. Post the debacle of his last project Annaatthe, this action entertained has come as a massive boost for the Superstar fans with the film registering record collections in multiple centres.
