At one time, films like Dookudu , Attarintiki Daredi became all time blockbusters, and they were released during Dasara season. But recently the industry is lacking that blockbusters for Dasara like Sankranthi season.

The Sankranthi season is giving massive overflows to the theater owners and producers, but the Dasara season is struggling to give profits. This Dasara, Vijay’s Leo achieved break even, but it did not make any profits in Telugu states.

The same goes for Bhagavanth Kesari also, as it achieved the break even mark in most of the territories but did not make any profits. At last year’s Dasara, God father, Before a few years Jai Lava Kusa, Aravindha Sametha, Rudrama Devi, Syeraa Narasimha Reddy all these big films were released during the Dasara season and opened with positive talk.

Still, they were unable to get profits and even a few movies failed to achieve the break even mark in some territories despite positive word of mouth.

It’s shocking to note that there is no significant Telugu movie being released this Diwali season. Several Tamil films, like Karthi’s Japan Karthik Subbaraj’s Jigarthanda Double X, will be released for Diwali.

The only Telugu film that was planned to be released on Diwali 2023 was Aadikeshava by Panja Vaisshnav Tej, but it has been postponed to later. Aadikeshava’s makers felt the Diwali release was not a better choice since the entire nation would be hooked with ODI World Cup fever.So, Aadikeshava has been postponed to 24th November; there are no notable straight Telugu films for this Diwali weekend. Only dubbed films are getting released for Diwali.

Salman Khan’s Tiger 3, Karthi’s Japan, and Lawrence’s Jigarthanda Double X are being released for Diwali. That means there will be a complete dubbed film domination in theaters of Telugu states.

Tollywood makers usually prefer not to plan releases for Diwali like other festivals. Because November movies have a poor run, unlike other seasons. November and February are always considered the dry period for films in Tollywood.

Barroz 3D, the movie based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure and written by Jijo Punnoose, stars Guru Somasundaram, Cesar Lorente Raton, Ignacio Mateos, and Kallirroi Tziafeta, and features the titular character.

Will Pushpa 2 achieve the 1000Cr mark for producers

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 is undoubtedly the most awaited film of Indian cinema. The craze for this film is on par with Baahubali 2 and KGF 2 in all languages. The massive success of the film in the Hindi market has opened newer avenues and Sukumar and co. want to cash in on this craze and give an output that will surpass everyone’s expectations.

Because of these expectations, Pushpa 2 is on its way to a record business for an Indian film. The team is quoting record prices everywhere and this has raised a question if Pushpa 2 can achieve 1000Cr business for producers. The film’s non-theatrical business [Digital + Satellite + Audio ] rights are expected to be in the range of 350Cr. From Telugu states, makers are expecting around 200 Cr.

From other south markets such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, the combined business is expected to be around 80Cr. This means that the total trade from south India will be in the range 275Cr – 300Cr. Coming to the overseas market, the Mythri Movie Makers are quoting around 100Cr.

And in the north Indian market, where Pushpa 2 has huge potential, the makers are expecting very big numbers almost in the range of KGF2 and Baahubali 2. If Pushpa 2 delivers on its hype and collects 500Cr nett in Hindi, then the producers will achieve the 1000Cr mark from all the rights, business, and collections of the film

His last film, Gaddalakonda Ganesh, was released four years back, and since then, he has continuously met Pawan Kalyan for the project. Now, the inside strongly suggest that the director will move on to another project.

Pawan Kalyan, because of the consistent changes in his schedule, kept the film UBS postponing again and again. Before the release of Bro The Avatar,  it was reported even Pawan Kalyan would shelve his project with Gabbar Singh’s director. Still, after the movie’s result, he changed his decision and promised the dates allocation for the film.

After that, two schedules had happened, so everyone thought this time Harish Shankar would complete the film’s shoot. Still, now, with the Telugu state elections approaching, Pawan Kalyan is likely to take a break from the movies, and industry talks that he plans to allocate dates only to OG because there are only a few days required for the film.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh can not be completed, or it may even be able to make it to

the sets in the next 6-7 months. So Harish Shankar plans to move to another project as he leaves Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and this project is likely to be resumed when Pawan Kalyan will be back on to the sets. 

This is a good thing to happen for Harish Shankar because there is no use in spending all the time on a single movie, putting his career at risk during the prime time when things are not happening correctly. The official announcement is also expected to be made on this soon.
