Tiger 3 marks the first setback for Yash Raj Films in the Spy Series

0

Tiger 3 marks the first setback for Yash Raj Films in the Spy Series. It is widely known that the reputed production house of Bollywood, Yash Raj Films, has started a Spy Universe inspired by the likes of Disney and Marvel Series from Hollywood. Until now, all the films from the Spy Series have become big blockbusters, but Tiger 3 marks the first setback for Yash Raj Films in the Spy Series.

Tiger 3 failed to perform at the box office at the expected level. Yesterday, the trade expected the movie to register the biggest number for a Bollywood film in a single day, but it was not even on the list of the top 5 single days of Bollywood.

Usually, the post-Diwali 2 days are very long for Bollywood films. Yesterday, on the Post Diwali Day, Tiger 3 had underperformed, and today, it witnessed a big drop, and going by the trend, it may not even collect in the range of day 1. Today’s number of the film is less than on day 1, which is a shocking thing.

Before release, everyone expected that Salman Khan would challenge the records of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan and Pathaan, but now leave alone the 500Cr net but collecting 400Cr or even 350 Cr also looks very, very tough for the film if it goes on the same trend at the box office.

All the YRF Spy Series or Universe films have worked well, and Tiger 3 has become the first setback film for Yash Raj films.

Japan movie is a big disaster at the box office

0

Japan movie is a big disaster at the box office. Actor Karthi’s 25th Film, Japan, was released as a Diwali Special on November 10th. Shockingly, the film has become a big disaster at the box office. Director Raju Murugan tried to make a different heist comedy-drama by presenting Karthi as a quirky character, but he could not impress the audience. That is why Japan movie is a big disaster at the box office.

The movie has collected around 18Cr Gross for 4 days. The film completely crashed in other territories except Tamil Nadu on day 1. Afterward, in TN, Japan, the movie maintained the same number of opening day but did not have any jump.

The film could put at least 2Cr range numbers in TN daily during the festival holidays. However, starting today in TN, the film is expected to crash. The movie will end up below 25Cr Gross, which makes it a big disaster. This movie is a big setback for Karthi, who is known for good script selection but failed to select the proper script for his landmark film.

Japan, written and directed by Raju Murugan, has been made as a heist comedy film and, as said above, failed to impress the audiences. The film also continued the disastrous streak of actress Anu Immanuel.

Japan’s ensemble cast comprises Anu Emmanuel, Sunil, KS Ravikumar, Jithan Ramesh, Bava Chelladurai, and more, in addition to Karthi. Dream Warrior Pictures, a company known for films like Kaithi and Sulthan, provided funding for the movie, and GV Prakash Kumar composed the music.

Jigarthanda Double X super strong on day 4 at the box office

0

Jigarthanda Double X was super strong on day 4 at the box office. The audiences have been impressed by Karthik Subbaraj’s action drama, which features solid emotions and technical excellence, as well as the finest performances of Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah. That is why Jigarthanda Double X held super strong on day 4 at the box office.

The film maintained an excellent hold on the 4th day at the box office. The holiday advantage helped the film maintain the same numbers on day 3. In Tamil Nadu, for 4 days, the movie has collected around 22 – 23Cr Gross, while it collected more than 6Cr Gross in Overseas. The film has gathered around 5 crore gross from the rest of India. So overall, the film has collected around 34Cr Gross for 4 days and the trade expects the movie to have a long run and to gather in the range of 100Cr Gross.

Jigarthanda Double X is a follow-up to the 2014 film Jigarthanda, which Karthik Subbaraj directed. Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Ivenio Origin have worked together to produce the film. Raghava Lawrence, SJ Suryah, Naveen Chandra, and Nimisha Sajayan played significant roles in the movie.

The music for the film was composed by Santhosh Narayanan, while S Thirunavukkarasu cranked the camera.

‘I had goosebumps when Ajay first narrated the story to us,’ Mangalavaaram producers’ exclusive interview with Track Tollywood

0

Ajay Bhupathi’s Mangalavaaram is all set to hit the big screens on 17th November. The pan-India thriller features and exciting cast consisting of Payal Rajput, Ajmal Ameer, Nanditha Swetha, Ravindra Vijay, and Ajay Ghosh among others. With the film’s release a few days away, we caught up with the producers of the film Swathi Reddy Gunupati and Suresh Varma for an exclusive chat about the film, their experience, and the kind of expectations the audience should have.

How was your Mangalavaaram journey?
The journey was superb, emotional, and endearing. It was great to have this kind of support for our first film and we are really excited about it

What was your feeling when director Away Bhupathi narrated the story to you? Since it is filled with thrilling elements, full of surprises? Were you equally surprised when you heard the narration?
I had goosebumps when Ajay first narrated the story to us. Since the story needed that excitement and suspense elements, I was really excited seeing how well the narration went and it was packed with all the elements that you will soon see on screen

What inspired you to take this subject to the Pan-India level?
When Ajay narrated the subject to us, we felt the that concept has a lot of depth and universality hence the language won’t be a barrier and it will be released in all languages simultaneously. We have started promotions in Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi as well.

The response from the trade circles has been great and Mangalavaaram has done great business both theatrical and non-theatrical. Did you expect this response?
We were focused on delivering quality output and the response from distributors has been a result of this quality output. Of course, business sense and economy are a critical part of filmmaking but that was not what we were targeting to begin with. The response has been quite pleasant.

Other films are also releasing on November 17th, Can you share two reasons the audience should watch Mangalavaaram?
The unique subject and its treatment are the first reason to watch Mangalavaaram. Apart from that, as you have seen the response to the trailer and other promotional content is another reason to watch the film. We sincerely hope all the other films also do well along with Mangalavaaram.

Why did you select November 17th as the release date and why not Diwali weekend? Considering no Telugu movie released for Diwali.
We were quite focused on the 17th November release date, to begin with. Even Ajay wanted to go for a solo release. Since two Tamil movies (Japan and Jigarthanda Double X) were released on Diwali and there is a World Cup going on, we felt 17th November was the best time and we are quite satisfied with the date.

Various subjects have emerged at a pan-India film. In Tollywood, the recently released Virupaksha was a major success. So what’s the key difference between the two films?
Mangalavaaram is a totally different subject and the way Ajay has narrated it is truly spectacular. The story with a native background along with emotions, comedy, and unique characterization has made Mangalavaaram a complete package. It will surely be a great visual experience for the audience and the theatrical experience will surely be amazing.

The budget reportedly exceeded by Rs 20 crores as Ajay Bhupathi also confirmed. So how did you deal with that?
We realized that the scale and level of the movie needed to be taken up by a notch right after the first schedule. It is true that we overshot the budget considerably but that was a conscious decision to lend the movie that extra visual appeal. Audience will realize that once they see the final product on the big screen. We had complete faith in Ajay and he has truly delivered a great output.

Several medium-budget movies are going for paid premieres. Do you have any such plans for Mangalavaaram?
Yes! We have those plans and are in discussions with the distributors about paid premieres. Once the details are finalized, we’ll make an official announcement.

The movie faced some obligations when it went for Censor so how did you deal with that?
There were no obligations as such. The censor board advised us to alter the lyrics to a song just by a bit. But we felt the essence of the song would get diluted because of this. Hence we are using the song only as promotional material now. This song will be there in the OTT version.

Any plans for the next project?
Right now we are just enjoying Mangalavaaram and for the next few days, we will be in the same zone. We’ll think about other projects later on.

Industry talk is that a big production house Mudhra Media Works has entered the business. You guys have the capacity to make films on a large scale with big stars.
We are thankful to have achieved this image in a short time. Because of this confidence, we have decided to take up any project only if we can commit to it completely and wholeheartedly.

Ajay Bhupathi was speaking about the plans for an extended cut of Mangalavaaram. Are there any plans for the same?
We have discussed the same and liked the concept. Let’s see if this can be taken forward.

The film’s shoot begins with an action episode. After a class film like Hi Nanna, Nani is back to action mode.

DVV Danayya and Kalyan Dasari of DVV Entertainment are bankrolling the project on a large canvas with a high budget.

The film’s regular shoot commenced today with an action episode in Hyderabad. Ram-Lakshman masters are overseeing this fiery episode. Alongside action, some talkie parts will also be canned in this schedule. Nani and the main artists of the movie will be part of the shoot.

Bollywood struggles to make an impact in other languages

0

Bollywood is continuously trying to create a market in other languages but is continuously failing in doing so. From South India, films like Baahubali, Baahubali2, KGF, KGF2, Pushpa, Kantara, and many more films did wonders not just in the South but even emerged as massive blockbusters in the Hindi market. This is something Bollywood has not able to replicate so far.

Even Bollywood’s most prestigious YRF spy franchise featuring A-listers like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan have failed to create an impact in all languages. These films were a blockbuster only in Hindi. Even the recent Tiger3 managed to collect just Rs 1Cr+ nett in other languages on opening day. Even Shahrukh Khan’s Bollywood industry hit Jawan failed to create a major impact in the South despite having the backing of Atlee, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi.

South Indian films are creating records in Bollywood markets and entering into top 5 and collecting 100Cr+ grossers there. The main reason for this is that Bollywood is only concentrating on action and not emotion. Movies down south have a lot of action but it is the emotions, taking, and characterization that made Baahubali, Pushpa, KGF etc. big hits. It’s about time Bollywood filmmakers understand the needs of audience instead of making big budget action entertainer and expecting them to strike gold.

Devara on track for its planned release

0

Devara is on track for its planned release. Today, 90% of films are getting postponed from their official release. Due to the delay in the CG works, dissatisfaction with some output, or other reasons, a few big movies have been postponed. However, NTR and Koratala Siva’s Pan-Indian film Devara is on track for its planned release and will not be postponed.

It is widely known that Devara is a big-budget pan-Indian film with many CG works. So doubt was raised on whether this film would be released on the planned date, but Koratala Siva designed it perfectly, shot the action part first, and then sent the content to CG works.

So now the team is shooting the remaining parts, and there would be no delays expected in this process. The makers of Devara took it to their official social media account, and the team confirmed the release date today. They informed everyone that the team is back on set after a short festival break, and the film Devara Part 1 will be released on April 5th, 2024.

5th April is a blockbuster and a dreamy release date for a big film, and Devara is on track for its planned release date. It is widely known that the film will be released in two parts.

NTR Arts and Yuvasudha Arts jointly support this movie, where Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan plays the antagonist, and Janhvi Kapoor plays the female lead. Devara – Part 1 will be released worldwide on April 5, 2024. Anirudh Ravichander is the music director.

Leo struggles to cross the 600Cr mark

0

Vijay’s Leo struggles to cross the 600Cr mark. It is widely known that Thalapathy Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Leo was released on October 19th and became a massive blockbuster at the box office. Even with the film becoming profitable for all parties involved, Leo struggles to cross the 600Cr mark.

Leo did exceptionally well in all the territories in 1st week, and everyone expected the film would easily break the records of Rajinikanth’s Jailer very quickly. Still, after the 1st week, the film saw a considerable drop everywhere except Tamil Nadu.

In Tamil Nadu, the film maintained a decent momentum with a good jump over the weekends, but with no good support from the other markets, the movie is struggling to surpass the 600Cr mark.

The Diwali weekend had worked only a little for Leo. Jigarthanda Double X, released last Friday, got positive talk and took advantage of the Diwali weekend. Leo’s worldwide gross has been at 590Cr till now, and crossing Jailer [625Cr] looks out of reach; even the 600Cr mark also looks tough now as the film has almost reached the closing. The Makers recently officially announced the film’s benchmarks, Leo’s official box office records in various territories.

Currently, the film is not getting any numbers in any other territories, excluding Tamil Nadu, and an OTT release is expected this week for Leo.

Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay, Leo has achieved break-even and profits in all territories and has emerged as a true blockbuster.

The film has an impressive cast, with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Iyal, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Madonna Sebastian, Priya Anand, and others playing important roles. Seven Screen Studio produced the movie with Anirudh Ravichander as the music composer.

0

It is widely known that the Pan-Indian star Prabhas and Director Prashanth Neel have collaborated for the upcoming big action film Salaar. The movie is almost six weeks away from its theatrical release, and as said above, Rocky Bhai’s cameo in Salaar has recently become the talk of the town.

So, everyone thought the film Salaar would be a part of a KGF Series. Track Tollywood has confirmed before that Salaar is a part of the KGF Series.

In recent days, this buzz has gotten stronger. Reportedly, it is certain that Salaar will be a part of the KGF Series, and the latest buzz is that there will be a cameo of Yash, the Rocky Bhai, in the film’s climax. If this is true, it will significantly boost the film. The trailer for Salaar might give much more clarity on this exciting news.

Salaar is directed by KGF Series maker Prashanth Neel. The film stars Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Easwari Rao in crucial roles. Ravi Basrur is the film’s music director.
