Saindhav Review – A Conventional Action Thriller with a few Good Parts

0

Movie: Saindhav
Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Venkatesh, Shraddha Srinath, Baby Ssara Palekar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arya, Ruhani Sharma, Andrea Jeremiah, Jisshu Sen Gupta, and others
Director: Sailesh Kolanu
Produced By: Venkat Boyanapalli
Release Date: 13th January 2024

Story: Saindhav Koneru (Venkatesh) works at a harbor and lives a happy life with his daughter. He has an unpleasant past that no one is aware of. In an unexpected situation, he requires an injection that costs 17 crore to save his daughter. The film shows his past life, how he can save his daughter, and how he stops a crime cartel that is planning a big terrorist activity.

Performances: Venkatesh portrays Saindhav Koneru aka SAIKO very well. His screen presence remains charming as ever. He effortlessly handles a few emotional moments for which he is well known, and he looked dashing in action sequences as well. Baby Ssara Palekar was good, while Nawazuddin Siddiqui was impressive. Shraddha Srinath Arya, Ruhani Sharma, Andrea Jeremiah, Jisshu Sen Gupta, Mukesh Rishi, Jayaprakash and others were okay.

Saindhav First Half Review:

The first half of the film starts with a small brief about the hero’s past. Then the narrative moves to his family life. A few bonding moments between father and daughter work well. Though the pace is constantly slow, the film goes on a passable mode. After a major turn, the focus shifts to the action part and the interval episode also works, raising the anticipation towards the second half.

Saindhav Second Half Review:

The second half also starts on an interesting note, but the game between Hero and Villain gets predictable. The point of linking Injection and crime cartel looks overstretched. Also, the setup of crime cartel looks underdeveloped as the dynamics and power politics lack the effect. The Climax came good, giving the film effect of a totality.

Positives:

  • Venkatesh Storyline
  • Action Episodes
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Dull Narration
  • Lack of Emotional Depth
  • Music

Saindhav Movie Review and Verdict:

Saindhav is a conventional thriller with a few good parts. The film fails to deliver a strong impact because of the lack of emotional connection, making it an underwhelming watch after a point. However, Venkatesh’s performance, well choreographed action episodes, and the climax work well for the film.

‘Naa Saami Ranga’ is the perfect Sankranti Entertainer — Nagarjuna

King Nagarjuna Akkineni is coming up with a wholesome entertainer, ‘Naa Saami Ranga.’ Directed by the renowned choreographer Vijay Binni, the film has generated immense excitement through its captivating promotional material. The music, composed by Oscar winner MM Keeravani, is already making waves, topping the music charts.

Srinivasaa Chitturi is backing this high-budget venture under the banner of Srinivasa Silver Screen. The worldwide grand release is scheduled for January 14th, serving as a special Sankranti gift for fans. King Nagarjuna Akkineni shared insights about the film’s features during a press conference. Naa Saami Ranga’ is the perfect Sankranti Entertainer, says Nagarjuna.

Q: Is ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ the quickest film you’ve completed in your career?

A: Indeed, if we consider the time from the start of shooting to the release date, ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ can be regarded as a swiftly filmed project. This is not measured in working days alone; despite having completed several films within a 35-day window, ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ took us 72 days to shoot, with my involvement spanning 60 days. Efficient pre-production is crucial for such swift work. Fortunately, we executed thorough pre-production for this film. Having a maestro like Keeravani as our music director was a stroke of luck. Three songs were ready before shooting commenced, and even the background music for the fight sequence was prepared in advance. We shot the fight scenes with the accompanying background music. Keeravani played a pivotal role in the speed and grand scale of the production. Every song is exceptional, making Keeravani the star of our movie.

Q: What drew you to the story of ‘Naa Saami Ranga’?

A: I was captivated by all its elements—friendship, love, sacrifice, and faith. It’s a wonderful narrative filled with human emotions.

Q: Is it true that ‘Sankranti Prabhala Teertham’ is the first time on the Telugu screen?

A: Indeed, the story unfolds during the three days of Bhogi, Sankranti, and Kanuma, set against the backdrop of Sankranti Prabhala Teertham. As a festival close to our hearts, this film, set in the 80s, is a must-watch for the festive season.

Q: ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ has a Malayalam origin. What precautions were taken for a Telugu audience?

A: We ensured the essence of the story was retained. Credit goes to director Binni for meticulous adaptation, and Prasanna for seamlessly blending it with Telugu nativity.

Q: Thoughts on Aashika Ranganath’s role in the film?

A: There’s a unique love story between me and Ashika, depicting our romantic journey since the age of 12. It’s a distinct love tale that unfolds over two decades, and Ashika delivered an outstanding performance.

Q: Tell us about director Vijay Binni and his visual sense.

A: Vijay Binni possesses an excellent visual sense, evident in the beautifully choreographed songs. He has a knack for storytelling through song sequences, which I admire. Binni’s clarity as a director is commendable.

Q: What can you share about the roles of Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun in the film?

A: Naresh’s role was conceptualized before Binni joined the project, focusing on brotherhood. Raj Tarun also plays a crucial character in the story.

Q: The title ‘Naa Saami Ranga’—can you elaborate?

A: The title is inspired by a song from Nanna Garu’s film. It complements perfectly our story, resonating at various points in the movie.

Q: Was it challenging to meet production deadlines?

A: The director, camera department, and all post-production teams worked tirelessly. Coordination among departments ensured a smooth process.

Q: What about the action sequences in the film?

A: They are intense and chaotic, making ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ stand out in terms of action.

Q: Thoughts on the producers and their support?

A: Srinivasa Chitturi is an excellent producer. Our bond is strong, and he has provided unwavering support for the film.

Q: Any plans for a film with Mahesh Babu in the future?

A: That’s something to consider after he completes the film with Rajamouli (laughs).

Q: Can you share details about your next movie?

A: I am currently working on a film directed by Sekhar Kammula.

Guntur Kaaram Book My Show users’ ratings are highly shocking, targeted negative campaign

0

Guntur Kaaram Book My Show users’ ratings are highly shocking, and there are a few doubts that a targeted negative campaign is happening in the film. It is widely known that the latest movie of Superstar Mahesh Babu, Guntur Kaaram, has been released in theaters worldwide today. The film carried big expectations because of the iconic combo of Mahesh and Trivikram and saw mixed responses from the audiences and critics. Guntur Kaaram Book My Show users’ ratings are highly shocking, and there are a few doubts that a targeted negative campaign is happening in the film.

Even though there were mixed reviews for Mahesh’s previous films after Bharat Ane Nenu on BookMyShow, the user rating was perfect for them. However, for Guntur Kaaram, the rating is currently just 6.9. All recent Mahesh films had more than 8 ratings, even at the end of the run. Guntur Kaaram, on opening day, falls to 6.9, which is a very bad sign for the film. It will have a heavy impact on its theatrical run, and the other reason might be the Superhero film Hanuman, which was released in competition and has a 9.7 rating .

So, a big film starring Mahesh Babu getting a 6.9 rating on the opening day itself is very rare, and the fans of Mahesh feel it is an intentional negative campaign. Nowadays, social media is a crucial tool for a film’s popularity, and the low ratings in the BMS app can hurt Guntur Kaaram’s box office prospects.

Guntur Kaaram Cast and Crew

Directed by Trivikram, the movie stars Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female leads. Guntur Kaaram also boasts an impressive cast comprising Prakash Raj, Jagapathi Babu, Easwari Rao, Rao Ramesh, Jayaram, Ramya Krishnan, and other prominent actors. Haarika & Hassine Creations backed this project, with Thaman being the music composer.

Heavy trolls on Om Raut after the Hanuman release

0

The release and unanimous appreciation for Prashanth Varma’s Hanuman has again proven that creativity and concept are the most important aspects of filmmaking. This holds especially true when the theme is fantasy-based. Hanuman has been widely appreciated for its VFX, thrilling sequences, and action. While the film is garnering great applause from the audience, Adipurush director Om Raut has once again started trending in fan circles.

Om Raut who directed Adipurush is getting targeted by netizens after the Hanuman release. Prabhas’ fans and general audience appreciated the way Prashant Varma managed to pull the VFX works and showcase the hanuman and Sriram in such a terrific manner with less budget. They complained that Om Raut on the other hand had a huge budget yet failed to get good CG and failed to do justice for Ramayana.

When Adipurush was released the audience trolled the visual effects, and costume/character sketch choices, and objected to the wrong depiction of the mythological characters in the film. Numerous negative reviews have criticized the insertion of what some see as “modern” elements, suggesting that they were completely unnecessary.

Netizen are now once again bringing back these trolls on social media. And even the team deserves as they affected people’s sentiments. Adipurush, the modern adaptation of the epic Ramayana, is directed by Om Raut and produced on a massive scale by Bhushan Kumar and starred Prabhas in yet another pan-India film as Lord Rama.

Nagarjuna announced his next two films

0

Nagarjuna announced his next two films. It is widely known that Akkineni Nagarjuna’s upcoming film is Naa Saami Ranga. Choreographer Vijay Binny directs the film. Amigos fame Ashika Ranganath is playing the female lead role in the movie. Allari Naresh and Raj Tarun are playing important roles in the film. It will be released in theaters worldwide on January 14th. Nagarjuna announced his next two films during the promotions of Naa Saami Ranga.

” I am doing the next with Sekhar Kammula.  The shooting will start on the 24th or 25th of this month. Then I will do an action film with a director named Naveen. It’s a different-zone movie. The film will be on the lines of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. I don’t know if it’s my 100th film; I have not done any calculation of it as of now”.

The inside talk is that Nag liked the line narrated by director Naveen from Kollywood. Naveen has made only two films so far. The first one is the 2013 Moodar Kudam. It’s got a good name. In 2021, he made another film called Agni Siragugal, starring Vijay Antony and Arun Vijay. The film was not released even after two years.

Naveen, known as a producer and writer, has yet to make a unique mark as a director. The script might have been perfect if Nagarjuna had said yes to Naveen.

Dil Raju has to quickly address the ticket hike for Guntur Kaaram

0

Dil Raju has to quickly address the ticket hike for Guntur Kaaram. It is widely known that since RRR, big films having ticket hike for the first weekend or 7–10 days have become a norm in Nizam/Telangana. However, if the makers hike the ticket prices for event films like RRR, Pushpa, or KGF 2, the public will not bother about the rates because they are excited to see those films on the big screen.

But if regular commercial entertainers like Guntur Kaaram have the ticket hike, then the film should have massive hype, or it should get terrific word of mouth. In any case, if both of these not happen, then the film will face issues. The same is happening with Mahesh Babu’s latest film, Guntur Kaaram. Dil Raju has to quickly address the ticket hike for Guntur Kaaram.

Going with a ticket hike of more than 400 is very risky for a regular film. Guntur Kaaram team opted for the ticket hike in the same range of RRR, KGF 2 and Salaar in Nizam. All these are big budget pan-Indian films, but Guntur Kaaram Is a regional film.

So it was a very risky decision to get such massive hikes and now the film’s word of mouth has come as mixed, and it did not turn up as huge as the expectations. The film’s distributor has to address this quickly and reduce the ticket prices as soon as possible, or else it will show a heavy impact in the film.

In Andhra Pradesh the ticket prices are fine for Guntur Kaaram as it is a 50 rs hike which will work on Sankranthi season. But in Telangana, the unwanted ticket hike is very risky, and the impact has already started to show on the films’ collections.
