Gaami: Reviews vs Audience Opinions Contrast

0

Gaami released on February 8th to unanimous positive reviews and big appreciations. The movie has created very good craze with trailer and other promotional content. The biggest advantage of the film is an visual spectacle, These kind of films works very well at Box office.

The movie has all positive factors, Unanimous positive reviews and Huge audiences anticipation. With all these factors normally the film should work so huge at Box office. On day 1 it starts on a strong note with close to 4.5Cr share worldwide. Normally the trend should be it should witness a bigger jump on day 2 and day 3. The trend should be day 3 is bigger than day 2, Day 2 is bigger than day 1.

But Gaami is performing on the reverse way. Day 1 opens very strong numbers and Day 2 it witnesses a drop over day 1. The movie collected less than 2/3 of day 1. And on day 3 it drops than day 2. The trend of the film is day 1 is bigger than day 2 and day 2 is bigger than day 3.

This definitely showcasing the reviews and WOM are not similar. The reviews are unanimously positive, But WOM seems not that kind of unanimous. If WOM is similar to reviews the film could have collected very huge numbers. The movie is definitely a success as the theatrical rights are very low. It achieves breakeven is weekend. But normally when small or medium budget crazy films does wonders when it opens with unanimous positive reviews. Gaami is not doing that

Ravi Teja’s Kick (2009), directed by Surrender Reddy, was a ‘Super Hit’ at the box office. Following its success, it was remade in Hindi with the same name with Salman Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez in lead roles, which emerged as a blockbuster.

After almost a decade, a direct sequel to Kick (2014) is being planned, with Salman reprising his role from the original. Sajid Nadiadwala, who directed the first installment, will fund this project, while A. R. Murugadoss is the director. This will be the fourth time the Tamil filmmaker will be helming a Hindi venture after Ghajini (2008), Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty (2014), Akhira (2016), and his first project, which is not a remake.

The film’s pre-production work has begun with an original script implying that it is not a remake of the Telugu version of Kick-2 (2015); the makers are targeting a grand release for Eid 2025. Prime Video is known to have acquired the streaming rights to the film at an undisclosed price.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Epic Comeback Into Films!

0

Nandamuri Balakrishna, popularly referred to by his fans as ‘Balayya’, is one of the four veteran stars of Telugu cinema, along with Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, and Nagarjuna. He has always had a strong rivalry with ‘Mega Star’ Chiranjeevi but has never really surpassed him in terms of stardom. In fact, he went through a long setback, facing multiple box-office bombs continuously.

However, he turned the tables down with his terrific script selection and planning. Akhanda (2021), Balayya’s third collaboration with Boyapati Srinu, marked the beginning of his comeback into commercial films. This was followed by Veera Simha Reddy and Bhagavath Kesari, two back-to-back INR 100 crore grossers in the same year. Coincidentally, this was also the phase when Chiranjeei faced a setback with multiple disasters such as Acharya (2022) and Bhola Shankar (2023). In other words, Balayya has finally shown his supremacy over his historic rival, Chiranjeevi. In addition to this, he was also part of Unstoppable, a talk show by Aha, which was also a huge success.

Most recently, a glimpse of his next venture, #NBK109, was released on the eve of Maha Shivarathri. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the teaser showcased a different avatar of Balayya that has mesmerised not just fans but also cinephiles in general.

Landmark Day: Two Epic Milestones for the Malayalam Film Industry

0

Today, the Malayalam film industry witnesses two epic milestones. Firstly, Manjummel Boys crosses the 150 Cr club, becoming the second Malayalam film to achieve this after the 2018 Movie. The film is poised to surpass the 180 Cr mark set by the 2018 Movie and emerge as the all-time industry hit, aiming for the coveted 200 Cr milestone.

Additionally, Premalu achieves the 100 Cr mark today, joining the elite 100 Cr club. It’s the fifth film to achieve this feat after Pulimurugan, Lucifer, the 2018 Movie, and Manjummel Boys.

It’s noteworthy that no South Indian film industry has produced two hundred crore grossers in February within a single year. February is not typically a peak season, so most films opt for other release dates. Only Bheemla Nayak from Telugu and Valimai from Tamil, released in February, managed to gross more than 100 Cr.

Manjummel Boys emerges as the biggest grosser for South Indian cinema among February releases, marking a significant achievement.

Tamil Producer Arrested In Drugs Case

0

A. R. Jaffer Sadiq, a noted producer of Tamil cinema, was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on March 9th for his alleged involvement in the drug racket case. He is accused of being the kingpin in a ₹2,000-crore international drug trafficking racket that has allegedly trafficked over 3500 kg of psuedoephedrine to Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia.

According to Gyaneshwar Singh, deputy director general of NCB, Mr. Sadiq is the mastermind behind this operation. He invested his drug business earnings into real estate and film production; Mangai (2024), a film starring Anandhi, was allegedly funded by this ill-gotten money.

Mr. Sadiq was also a member of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam’s NRI wing for the Chennai District-West; he was expelled from the party following this news outbreak. Coming to his film career, he is the director of JSM Pictures, a film production company based in Chennai; some projects they’ve created include Mangai (2024), Iraivan Miga Periyavan, and Maayavalai; however, neither of these have hit the screens till date.

No Buyers For Pushpa-2 & Kalki 2898 AD

0

You heard it right! These star-studded projects are struggling to find distributors for theatrical releases. Reason? Because of the exorbitant prices the makers are quoting. Mythri Movie Makers and Vyjayanthi Movies, the production companies of these films, respectively, are reportedly quoting INR 100 crore each for overseas Andhra Pradesh regions and a whopping INR 80 crore for Nizam alone.; these figures are on par or even higher than that of RRR (2022).

While Kalki 2898 AD is certainly a monumental film, Nag Ashwin is not a brand among the masses like S. S. Rajamouli; moreover, he is just two films old, which too were aimed at multiplex audiences only. Pushpa-2, on the other hand, is a unique case; it’s a massive project that’s carrying tremendous buzz, but not to forget, it’s the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise (2021), which was a below-average grosser in Telugu states. While the underperformance of Pushpa can be attributed to low ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh, the rates that are being quoted are simply unreasonable.

‘Icon Star’ Allu Arjun Trolled For New Ad Commercial

0

Allu Arjun is undoubtedly a supremely talented individual and a national superstar with fans across the country. But that’s not all right; sometimes, an actor’s off-screen image also plays a key role in shaping up his brand.

To say the least, ‘Icon Star’ Allu Arjun has always been criticised for being narcissistic on social media, particularly for his obsessive usage of the AA logo on all his belongings. Morever, he has a strong yet over-enthusiastic PR team that overestimates his stardom and constantly tries to show his fellow actors as inferior to him.

For these reasons, he has already faced numerous trolls, but the Pushpa star looks in no mood to listen to this social media noise. He was recently featured in an advertisement for Astral Pipes, where he’s seen bashing a bodybuilder with ease. What attracted criticism was the depiction of his AA logo in the commercial, which audiences felt was completely out of place and forced.
