Murari 4K – Massive Advance Bookings!

‘Super Star’ Mahesh Babu’s birthday celebrations are happening on a grand scale. While there may not be any update from Rajamouli regarding #SSMB29, fans are well-prepared to set the box office on fire.

As the title reads, a remastered 4K version of Krishna Vamshi’s classic Murari (2001) is gearing up for a re-release across Telugu states. Admittedly, there were mixed expectations from this move since Murari is not a mass film like Pokiri or Businessman.

But the advance bookings of Nizam have proved it wrong. In Hyderabad city alone, Murari has minted a record INR 75 lakh in the form of advance bookings on Book My Show portal, Overall total advance bookings gross is in the range of One Crore. A big chunk of theaters/single screens are yet to open their bookings online. The film features Sonali Bendre as the female lead, while veteran music composer Mani Sharma handled the tunes.

Its Official: Indian-2 Is Arriving On Netflix!

Titled Bharateeyudu-2 in Telugu, Indian-2 is a vigilante thriller film starring Kamal Hassan in the lead role. The second installment in the series, it is a sequel to Indian (1996). Helmed by ace filmmaker Shankar Shanmugham, it received a mixed-to-negative response upon release and eventually bombed at the box office.

In spite of that, there’s significant buzz around the film’s OTT release, thanks to Shankar‘s unparalleled legacy. Coming to its streaming details, Indian-2 will have a digital premiere on 9th August on Netflix. Besides its original Tamil version, it will also be available in Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannda.

Lyca Productions has bankrolled this venture on a big scale. It also features Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Siddharth, S. J. Suryah, and Vivek in supporting roles. A third film in the franchise titled ‘Indian-3’ has already been shot and will arrive in cinemas very soon.

Wayanad Landslide: Real Hero Mohan Lal

Wayanad’s devastating landslides are one of the worst natural disasters of recent times. Amid the devastation, several prominent celebrities, film stars, and sports stars have contributed to rehabilitation and rescue work. Malayalam legendary star Mohanlal has stood out amongst these celebrities for his active work towards the Wayanad landslide.

Mohanlal, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, recently visited the landslide-hit Wayanad on Saturday. The death toll in Kerala’s Wayanad landslides reached 358.

Dressed in his army uniform, the megastar discussed with officers before heading to the affected areas. Honoured with the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army in 2009, the actor demonstrated his commitment to service by offering support and solidarity during this crisis.

The actor through Viswasanthi Foundation also pledged Rs 3 crore for the rehabilitation works of the disaster-hit region. He also took to social media to express his gratitude to the teams working towards rescuing the trapped victims.

“I salute the courage of the selfless volunteers, policemen, Fire & Rescue, NDRF, army soldiers, government officials, and everyone working tirelessly to provide relief to the victims of the Wayanad disaster. I am grateful for the efforts of my 122 Infantry Battalion, TA Madras, who have been at the forefront of the relief mission. We have faced challenges before and emerged stronger. I pray that we stand united and show the strength of our unity in this difficult time. Jai Hind!”

A documentary about Rajamouli’s film career, titled Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli, was released on Netflix yesterday. Clips from this documentary are going viral on social media. During a meeting with prominent journalist Anupama Chopra, the Maverick director made a stunning comment that is guaranteed to stir controversy.

He is unquestionably a master of storytelling, and he enjoys presenting stories in the best way possible, keeping the audience engaged.He approaches mythology from a unique perspective.With an unorthodox style of thinking, he understands the uniqueness of the characters and interprets them differently in his films.
In the documentary Rajamouli stated, “As young children, we heard that Kauravas are terrible and Pandavas are good. Ravana is bad. Rama is good. However, as you get older and study more about it, you realize that it is not so straightforward. I like Ravana better than Lord Ram. He’s a terrific character. It’s quite complicated. I like my villains to be really strong. Defeating them should be a difficult task.”

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay’s Final Film Commences!

‘Thalapathy’ Vijay will be next seen in a dual role in ‘The Greatest Of All Time’, a sci-fi action drama helmed by ace filmmaker Venkat Prabhu. Meenakshi Chaudhary and Malavika Sharma are female leads, while Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped to compose the tunes.

The team has already wrapped up the shooting part, and the post-production works, alongside promotions are happening at a brisk pace; it is slated for a worldwide release in September 2024.

Post this, Vijay has signed to star in one last project; yes, it’s going to be the final film of his career as he is planning to venture into politics. Multiple production companies and directors had been in talks for this prestigious project, but neither of them materialized for various reasons.

According to the latest update, notable Tamil filmmaker H. Vinoth has narrated a script that reportedly impressed Vijay. Eventually, the project has been locked, and the pre-production works, such as the look test, have already started. Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in as the film’s music composer.

The recently released SPARK song from G.O.A.T has evoked harsh reactions from the netizens with the de-aging of Vijay who is just 50 years old. Well, the song itself was just mediocre according to the standard put up by Yuvan Shankar Raja which further deepened the question if Venkat Prabhu is compromising quality with quantity so far. The deaging is so bad that Vijay doesn’t even look like a guy in 20 years old but more of a kid trying to be an adult with an amateurish short trimmed beard that doesn’t even look good and the chemistry between Vijay and Meenakshi looks so awful to be honest.

If the whole point of the director Venkat Prabhu was to just show as a younger guy, It could have been simply done would have been simply resolved by applying some hair dye & a little bit of shaving/trimming would have convincingly made Vijay look at least two decades younger.And this is what was successfully done by Lokesh Kangaraj who went for the VFX only at places where it was needed in LEO and successfully gave a superb Young Vijay looks that literally carried the aura of the mediocre second half of the film. Well, that’s how you use a star in a commercial film.

It becomes once again makes the case clear that how Shankar in Tamil Industry has pioneered the usage of VFX and technical aspects in his filmmaking journey in spite of making his recent bomb – Indian 2.Audience to an extent are still interested for Indian 3 and Game changer just because of the glimpses of de-aged kamal Hassan that he has added at the end of the film that was perfectly and well done only because Shankar and team spent an entire year to render the output. Thus, making things clear that de-aging tech is not suitable for short term projects like G.O.A.T and trying going back on traditional practical effects work for films.

The GOAT’s third single Spark: Vijay and Music disappoint

Vijay’s upcoming film, The GOAT‘s third single Spark has released today on YouTube. The song featured lead pair Vijay and Meenakshi Chaudhary dancing and grooving. However, The song composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja lacked Spark and the music disappointed the audience completely. Vijay too looked odd surprisingly and this too felt disappointing.

The team has used latest technology of De-Aging for one of the characters of Vijay in the film. But this didn’t come out well as was seen from the Spark Song. The Young version look of Vijay has failed to impress and he looked as a cartoonish character. Instead, the team should have gone ahead with a make-up work for Vijay.

Above all, the music and three songs composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja are a reason to worry for the fans and audience. No song has impressed them fully to the core. Vijay’s previous films’ albums had become chartbusters after their release. This is not happening with The GOAT. The film is scheduled for release on 5th September this year. Vijay will be working for only film after this under the direction of H. Vinoth which has been confirmed as well. The Actor will concentrate only on politics from then.
