The RRR team has been extremely busy even after the original theatrical release back in March last year. The team did promotional tours in US and UK and even visited Japan for the film’s release before the US tour for Golden Globes and Oscars began.
Amidst all these events, producer DVV Danayya is nowhere present and has almost been away from the limelight completely since the movie was released and became a blockbuster. The industry news is Danayya was not at all interested to spend any amount for the Oscar campaign. A typical Oscar campaign requires heavy marketing, touring and outreach activities which Danayya didn’t show much interest in.
Rajamouli’s family along with Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda has spent for all the Oscar campaign expenses. This was the reason behind Danayya not being present anywhere. The producer in a recent interview stated that he is proud of the RRR team and that his film is getting Oscar. He also confirmed no one from the trio of Rajamouli, NTR, or Ram Charan contacted him before going to the Oscars stage.
