Mufasa: The Lion King Joins 50Cr Club in Tamil Nadu.  Mufasa, a sequel to The Lion King (2019), was released in theaters worldwide on December 20, 2024. Though the film did not receive many positive reviews, it performed well in India and joined the 100 Cr Net Club.

Undoubtedly, the Tamil Nadu territory has been Mufasa’s best-performing territory in India. It performed massively in Tamil Nadu and even dominated Viduthalai 2. Viduthalai 2 ended up with 44 Cr gross, whereas Mufasa crossed the 50 Cr club and is still running. As Mufasa: The Lion King Joins 50Cr Club in Tamil Nadu, it becomes the second Hollywood film to cross the 50 Cr mark in TN after Avatar 2.

Backed by Walt Disney Studios, the Hollywood musical drama is directed by Barry Jenkins. Mahesh dubbed his voice for Mufasa while Satyadev dubbed his voice for Taka/Scar. Ali, Brahmanandam, Shaking Sheshu and Ayyappa P Sharma have dubbed their voices for other crucial characters in the film. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan dubbed his voice for Mufasa’s character in Hindi.
