Mohan lal’s re release film opens bigger than his latest movie closing collections

Spadikam (1995), one of the biggest blockbusters of Mohan lal’s career, has been re-released again yesterday in theaters with a few changes in its scenes. The blockbuster action film, which has a cult classic status among mohan lal’s fans and Malayalam audiences, has been released in 4k format. The new version is told to be more exciting than the original version, as a few scenes have been added in Spadikam 4K adaptation.

It is very well known that Mohan lal’s latest release alone was failed miserably at the box office and the final numbers of Kerala were less than 1 crore. Now what’s surprising is Mohan lal’s old film Spadikam which was re-released with 4K remastered version on yesterday, and it opened with over 1 Crore gross in Kerala. These are record collections for a re-release in Kerala.

Director Bhadran also revealed that the remastered version is 8.5 minutes longer than the original film. A few additional shots have been added to the new version of the Mohanlal starrer. The director revealed that the introduction of Mohanlal’s character Aady Thomas has been re-shot using five hundred goats, whereas the initial version had only forty goats.

The director also shared that the OTT release of Spadikam 4K will not be out soon. They are planning to release the new version on OTT after three years from now.

Spadikam tells us the story of a small-town goon who is hated by his strict school headmaster father. Written and directed by Bhadran, the action entertainer further stars Thilakan, Urvashi, Spadikam George, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Rajan P. Dev, Silk Smitha, Nedumudi Venu, Chippy, and V. K. Sreeraman in crucial roles, along with others.
