Story:

An ambitious and dedicated filmmaker named Vasu (Siddharth) becomes attracted to Subbu (Ashika Ranganath) after witnessing her strong independent nature and ability to express herself. However, when he proposes to her, she rejects his advances. After that, Vasu is shocked to discover that she is the same woman he once held in contempt and with whom he shares a complicated past. What is the nature of their past relationship, and what lies ahead for Vasu and Subbu? Can they both forget the past and reunite?

Performances:

Siddharth performed well as Vasu, a regular lover boy character with a slight differentiation. His experience can be seen in crucial scenes of the film. Ashika Ranganath was good as Subbu. Jayaprakash and Sharath Lohithaswa were fine while the actors who appeared as the hero’s friends also did well.

Analysis:

Miss You, N Rajasekar’s directorial’s most positive thing is the self-awareness of it. The film has a stereotypical situation where the hero’s (Vasu) friends make him see the heroine (Subbu) at a wedding as the latter is put in a song-and-dance situation and interacts with children playfully. Normally, the hero is impressed by the kid-like nature of the heroine. But here, something different happens, and the hero’s reaction is different. Also, the moment where the protagonist explains the bad marriage came out well. Apart from some well-enacted poignant moments like these, the film also has some good fun moments that make the proceedings engaging. However, the film suffers from the laid-back style of narration and dullness very often and it also gets dragged on near the climax.

Positives:

  • Siddharth and Ashika’s Performance
  • Comedy Scenes
  • Few Emotional Scenes

Negatives:

  • Weak First Half
  • Not So Strong Backstory
  • Dragged Climax

Miss You Review and Verdict:

Miss You is an average film with an interesting concept. The film deals with the theme of love and the dynamics between two individuals with different personalities. While the narrative could have been more compelling, and there are some noticeable flaws in the execution, the film can be watched by audiences who love lighthearted tales with romance at the center.
