Story:

Venkataramana (Rao Ramesh) and Krishna ( Sundeep Kishan) are father and son. Ramana’s wife dies giving birth to Krishna, leaving them longing for a woman’s presence and a happy family life. To help with his son’s marriage, Ramana plans to remarry. Krishna loves Meera (Ritu Varma) while Ramana pursues Yashoda (Anshu). The story follows how the couples unite and the challenges they face in their marriages.

Performances:

Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh shine as father and son, boosting the comedy with their great chemistry. Ritu Varma and Anshu were okay. Murali Sharma’s character had a humorous touch, and he excelled in it. Sreenivas Reddy, Raghu Babu, and Hyper Aadi deliver some laughs.

Analysis:

Trinadharao Nakkina focuses on making entertaining films with simple stories. Mazaka is also the same. The director took an interesting plot of Father — Son duo falling in love and the proceedings around their actions. Almost every scene is aimed at providing comedy. The first half begins humorously, and while the story is predictable, it has some funny moments. Some scenes with Rao Ramesh feel silly, but the interval episode works well.

An exciting conflict arises between Ritu Varma and Anshu in the second half, yet the subsequent episodes lack excitement. The Anakapalli episode and later events fail to connect. Though the movie drags at times, the pre-climax and climax hit their marks. However, a better emotional impact would have helped the film.

Positives:

  • Entertainment
  • Twists during Pre-Post Interval
  • Scenes Towards Climax

Negatives:

  • Weak Emotional Impact
  • Few Silly/Boring Scenes
  • Songs

Mazaka Movie Review and Verdict:

Mazaka is an engaging entertainer with a few flaws. Though the film lacks the required solid emotional depth, the entertainment factor, Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh’s performance work well for the film.
