The psychological thriller Hatah, produced by Kiran Abbavaram and starring Tanuja Puttaswamy, won’t release as planned. The makers have officially postponed the film, with the new release date to be announced soon.
Why the Film Was Postponed
In an official statement, Team Hatah gave two reasons for the change: the overlapping film releases, and the need to give audiences the best possible sound experience in theatres.
“Considering the overlapping film releases and to ensure the best possible theatrical sound experience, Hatah’s release date has been rescheduled,” the team said.
The announcement poster carries the tagline: “A New Date. A Better Experience.”
Hatah New Date Soon
The makers haven’t fixed a new date yet. They said the new release date will be announced soon, and thanked audiences for their support and love.
The decision isn’t surprising given the packed release calendar. This week alone, Ramayana arrives on November 5 and Suriya’s Scene on November 6, and Jailer 2 is still running in theatres. That leaves very little room, and very few good screens, for smaller films.
A Crowded Box Office
Hatah’s focus on sound also makes the timing important. As a psychological thriller, the film depends on its sound design, and with big releases taking over the best screens, a later date gives it a better chance of being seen the way the makers intended.
Kiran Abbavaram Backs Fresh Concepts
Hatah is produced by Kiran Abbavaram’s KA Productions along with Pournami Entertainments. Apart from acting, Kiran has been using his banner to back new talent and fresh ideas, and Hatah is one of its most intriguing projects.
About Hatah
Hatah is a mystery and suspense thriller directed by Anush Gorak. Tanuja Puttaswamy plays a key role, alongside Kushlu Maddala, Rehman and Namritha MV. Jecin George has composed the background score.
