South Indian movie lovers have a special place for Kaithi (2019). Starring Karthi and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film was a huge blockbuster, and its sequel is probably the most anticipated one. However, surprisingly, the hero of the film, Karthi, drops a bombshell about Kaithi 2: he does not have any idea of the film’s progress.
As said above, Kaithi is a sensational blockbuster that made Lokesh a star director. At the end of the film, the team teased fans with a lead for a sequel and further connected that link with Kamal Haasan’s Vikram, thereby starting the Lokesh Cinematic Universe.
Naturally, the anticipation for Kaithi 2 grew, and everyone wanted to see it immediately. However, Lokesh directed Leo and Coolie in the meantime. After Coolie, the team officially announced Kaithi 2, which thrilled fans. But this excitement was short-lived, as the director changed his plans and attempted to collaborate with Rajinikanth, which ultimately didn’t materialize.
The inside buzz is that Lokesh and his team are working on a superhero subject, which is his dream project, and are in discussions with Aamir Khan and Allu Arjun.
Karthi’s Annagaru Vostharu (Vaa Vaathiyar) is releasing on December 12th. At the film’s audio launch, Karthi stated he doesn’t have any exact updates on Kaithi 2 and said it will happen when it’s meant to.
It appears that the delay in the filming of the Kaithi sequel has hurt the actor as well, and the film will take a long time to start.
