Kannada Industry Threatens Ban on Thug Life: Warns Kamal Haasan

The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) has taken a firm stand against the release of ‘Thug Life’ in the state, demanding a public apology from Kamal for his controversial comment on Kannada. 

The language sentiment is a big and sensitive issue in South India, and knowingly or unknowingly, the Indian 2 actor triggered a set of Kannada public with his statement. The Kannada industry threatens a ban on Thug Life and warns Kamal Haasan.

Kannada Film Industry Angry on Kamal: Warns Ban on Thug Life

Following discussions with members of the Kannada film industry, KFCC President M. Narasimhalu addressed the media and stated that efforts are being made to directly engage with the veteran actor. “Many Kannada groups have demanded a ban on his movie. So, we met and discussed the matter, and we’ve decided that he should apologize. We agree that what he did was wrong, and we are trying to meet and talk to him,” Narasimhalu said.
