Kalki 2898 AD is a massive money-spinner at the box office. Despite receiving mixed word-of-mouth, it went on to perform well, minting over INR 1200 crore worldwide. The Prabhas-starrer is now the fourth highest-grossing Indian film after Bahubali. The Conclusion, RRR, and KGF: Chapter 2.
In its 39 days of theatrical run, this sci-fi epic has minted a gross of INR 225 crore in its original Telugu version. But what makes this film special is that the Hindi-dubbed version outperformed the Telugu version, minting INR 227 crore worldwide.
This is a really remarkable feat by Nag Ashwin. Kalki 2898 AD also features Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan, Disha Patani, and Deepika Padukone. Aswini Dutt has bankrolled this mega project under Vyjayanthi Movies. A second installment in the series is in development.
