Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD is a huge blockbuster with more than 1000 Cr gross collection worldwide. This Nag Ashwin film’s Telugu version emerged as the Non-SSR industry hit with more than 500 Cr gross and once again proved Prabhas’ box-office stamina.
Shockingly, the same can’t be said about the sci-fi action film’s world television premiere. The television premiere rating was disappointing, and the film got 5.26 TRP in urban and 4.56 TRP in U+R markets on its recent Zee Telugu premiere. Failing to achieve decent ratings despite having a star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamala Haasan, and Deepika Padukone alongside Prabhas has indeed come as a huge surprise.
Nowadays, all the films are getting low ratings because they are already available on OTT platforms. This is why the movies receive low offers on their movie satellite deals. If biggies like Kalki 2898 AD also fail to deliver good ratings then the satellite market will see a greater decline and the makers won’t make much.
