With a few days to go for the worldwide release of Kalki 2898 AD, fans’ anticipations are at their peak with everyone speculating about the opening figures for this Nag Ashwin film. Some are projecting a Rs 200 crore opening. Only two films opened with 200 Cr gross worldwide in Indian cinema both are Rajamouli-directed films Baahubali2 and RRR.
Before Kalki, everyone expected Salaar will open with 200 Cr but it failed to do so. The Telugu version opened with excellent numbers but other languages saw a disappointing start for the Prashanth Neel film.
Now all eyes are on Kalki 2898 AD. This will definitely be a bigger opener than Salaar in Telugu. A 200 Cr opening is a sure-shot thing if the film gets off to good figures in other languages as well. Looking at the advance bookings trends, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to take a minimum 60 Cr gross start in overseas. In Telugu States the film is expected to take 70 Cr – 75 Cr start, Openings in Hindi and Tamil is key. If movie manages to opens with 35 Cr nett in North India, high chances for 200 Cr possibility.
