Jolly LLB is the third installment in the Jolly LLB series and sequel to Jolly LLB 2. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, with Amrita Rao and Huma Qureshi all reprising their roles from the first and second film. Let us check this sequel is able to meet the expectations or not in our review.

Story:

The story of Jolly LLB 3 revolves around Janki (Seema Biswas), a farmer’s widow who files a case against Haribhai Khetan (Gajraj Rao), one of the country’s richest and most respected businessmen, holding him responsible for her husband’s death. Lawyers Jagdish Tyagi (Arshad Warsi) and Jagdishwar Mishra (Akshay Kumar), who often clash over cases and clients, come together for Janki’s case. The rest of the film follows their journey as they fight for justice and face several challenges along the way.

Performances:

Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi both deliver strong performances and have standout moments that add weight to the story. Saurabh Shukla is excellent as the judge, bringing energy and humor to the courtroom scenes. Gajraj Rao, Seema Biswas, and Ram Kapoor fit their roles well. Huma Qureshi and Amrita Rao are fine in their limited screen time.

Analysis:

Director Subhash Kapoor, like in the earlier films, draws inspiration from real events: This time from the 2011 land acquisition protests in Uttar Pradesh. The film begins with an emotional tone and then shifts to the rivalry between the two Jollys. Their humorous exchanges work well, and the first half flows smoothly, ending just as the main case begins.

The second half leans more into emotion and features some powerful scenes, especially in the pre-climax and climax courtroom sequences. However, the film does repeat familiar themes like the conflict between wealth and morality, and the poor vs. rich angle, which audiences have seen in the previous installments.

Positives:

  • Performances
  • Fun Parts
  • Second Half

Negatives:

  • Some Predictable Scenes
  • Slightly Stretched Feel Before Interval

Jolly LLB 3 Movie Review and Verdict:

Subhash Kapoor’s Jolly LLB 3 succeeds with its honest storytelling, strong performances, and engaging dramatic parts. While some parts feel predictable, the film still manages to be a satisfying watch overall.
