The long negotiations on the merger of Disney+ Hotstar and Reliance Industries’ Jio have finally materialized. A new OTT biggie JioHotsar is finally here with some exciting changes and new plans. This development has come forth nearly a year after Mukesh Ambani bought a major stake in Disney valuing $1.5 Billion.
In an announcement, JioHotstar said JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar subscribers will be able to easily transition to the new platform. Apart from original content, JioHotstar will also aggregate content from the likes of NBCUniversal Peacock, Warner Bros, Discovery, HBO, and Paramount, which is something no other streaming service offers at the moment.

The pricing for the latest JioHotstar platform is quite competitive and viewers will have access to original content from various networks for as low as Rs 49. JioHotstar will have a three-tiered plan strategy.
Mobile– ₹149 – 3 months; ₹499 – 1 year (One Device only)
Super– ₹299 – 3 months; ₹899 – 1 year (Two devices)
Premium– (ads free) ₹299- 1 month; ₹499 – 3 months & ₹1499 – 1 year (Four devices)
Apart from movies and web series, this latest platform will continue to stream IPL, WPL, and ICC events, alongside other major sporting events like the Premier League, Wimbledon, Pro Kabaddi, and ISL.
