After Agent Sai Srinivas Athreya Naveen Polishetty has gained a decent market in Telugu states. Chitti Song from Jathi Rathnalu was an instant chartbuster and it had brought in a much-needed hype to the film. Very good promotions and a decent trailer have raised the bar of expectation for the film. Now let’s see if the film lived up to the expectations.
The story revolves around Srikanth (Naveen) and his other two friends who come to Hyderabad in search of a better lifestyle. But unfortunately, they end up in jail as accused in a murder attempt on MLA. The rest of the story is about how they manage to come out of this mess.
Naveen Polishetty with his brilliant performance carried the film on his shoulders. Regardless of the movie result people will fall in love with his standout performance in the film. His comic timing is also very good. Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi both as usual did justice to their roles. It is a decent debut from newcomer Faria Abdulla.
Anudeep Kv is the director, story and screenplay writer of the film. The plot of the film is very small but he still manages to entertain and hold the attention of the audience for more than 140mins. First half is the major plus point of the film. Situational comedy and one-liners will keep the audience engaged. The second half is the biggest disappointment compared to the first half. Although the director tries to carry entertainment factor throughout the film audience will feel a bit bored in the second half. Music by Radhan is one of the major positives of the film. The background score is good and also songs are well composed and well placed. The cinematography and editing could have been better.
+ First Half
+ Naveen Polishetty
– Second Half
– Dragged at times
Overall Jathi Rathnalu is a decent entertainer barring few boring scenes and dragged second half. Film may not appeal to all sets of audience.
Jathi Rathnalu should collect 11cr for breakeven. With the initial hype and decent First half, film should easily cross the breakeven mark and attain a HIT status at the box-office. It is more likely that film may enter into profits in many areas by end of this weekend.
