With the release of its theatrical trailer, it has been confirmed that Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is an official remake of Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari. But what surprised fans is that Jana Nayagan has a runtime that is more than 20 minutes longer than the original film.
After watching the trailer, fans noticed that director H. Vinoth and his team have made several changes to the original story. Bhagavanth Kesari has a runtime of 164 minutes, while Jana Nayagan runs for 183 minutes, creating a difference of nearly 20 minutes.
Reports suggest that several new scenes have been added, most likely featuring political elements that were not present in the original version. There is also strong buzz that the film’s climax will include a special tribute sequence to Thalapathy Vijay, along with a song. All these elements are new additions compared to Bhagavanth Kesari.
The film is set to release in theatres this Friday. Interestingly, after the trailer of Jana Nayagan was released, Bhagavanth Kesari started trending on Prime Video.
