Actor Vijay’s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan may not release on January 9, 2026, as originally planned, and according to the latest buzz, the film’s new release date is likely to be January 14. Unexpected issues with the censor board have affected the film at the last minute.
Reports suggest that the Madras High Court has postponed its decision on the case filed by KVN Productions LLP against the CBFC for not issuing the censor certificate. The judge reportedly stated that the order is expected to be announced on January 9.
If the verdict is delivered on the same day, it would be difficult for the makers to manage a smooth release, as both domestic and overseas screenings could be affected. It is being said that the makers have already informed distributors about the postponement and are now planning to release Jana Nayagan on a new date, January 14.
Naturally, fans are deeply disappointed by this development, as they were hoping to celebrate Thalapathy Vijay’s final film on the big screen with great excitement.
