There has been a lot of buzz and speculation about Balakrishna’s cameo in Rajinikanth and Nelson’s upcoming sequel Jailer 2. However, the latest update confirms that Vijay Sethupathi will step into the role that was initially planned for Balakrishna.
During the making of the first Jailer, Nelson had considered casting Balakrishna in a cameo, but later dropped the idea as the character did not fit well. When Jailer 2 was announced, fans strongly believed Balakrishna would finally be part of the film. Reports suggest that Nelson and his team did approach him, and several discussions took place, but the actor was not convinced to join.
The makers then reached out to other big stars, and eventually finalized Vijay Sethupathi for Balakrishna’s role. He will be seen as a powerful police officer, marking his second collaboration with Rajinikanth after Petta. Sources indicate that shooting for Sethupathi’s portions is currently happening in Goa.
Meanwhile, the teaser of Jailer 2 is scheduled to release on Rajinikanth’s birthday, December 12th. With massive anticipation surrounding the film, the teaser is expected to make a strong impact and set the tone for one of the most awaited sequels in Indian cinema.
