Jailer 2 has done what no kollywood film has managed before. Rajinikanth’s film crosses the $25 million mark at the overseas box office today, becoming the first Kollywood film ever to reach this milestone.
The $25M Wall Finally Falls
Before Jailer 2, two films came very close but couldn’t cross the line. Rajinikanth’s Jailer and Vijay’s Leo both ended their overseas runs at close to $24M, just short of the $25M mark.
Jailer 2 has now broken that barrier, and it has done it in just 10 days.

Records Everywhere
The overseas record is the latest in a long list for Jailer 2 outside India. The film collected around ₹211 Cr($22M+) overseas in its first week alone.
Its strength in markets like North America, the Gulf, Malaysia, Singapore and Europe has made it the biggest Tamil film ever overseas.
$30M Is the Next Target
Jailer 2 isn’t done yet. With the film still running strongly in its second weekend, it is now aiming for the $30M mark overseas, a number that once seemed far out of reach for a Tamil film.
On Track for the Industry Hit
Worldwide, Jailer 2 has crossed ₹625 Cr in nine days. With records falling in India and overseas, the film is set to beat 2.0’s all-time record and become Kollywood’s biggest grosser ever.
