Jailer 2 has crossed the ₹400 Cr gross mark in India in just nine days. Rajinikanth’s film is now heading for the ₹500 Cr club in India too, a milestone only one Kollywood film (2 Point O) has reached before.

Tamil Nadu Crosses ₹150 Cr
Tamil Nadu continues to lead with over ₹150 Cr in nine days. The film has held strongly in its home state well beyond the opening week.
Every Market Delivering
The rest of the country has been just as strong. The Telugu states are at ₹80 Cr, Karnataka is close to ₹70 Cr and Kerala is at ₹65 Cr. These are huge numbers for a Tamil film in each of these markets, and the rest of India has added ₹40 Cr.
Only 2.0 Has Done ₹500 Cr in India
So far, only one Tamil film has crossed ₹500 Cr gross in India. Rajinikanth’s 2.0 ended its run with around ₹520 Cr in India, helped by a big Hindi contribution.
Jailer 2 is now set to join that club, which would give Rajinikanth both of Kollywood’s ₹500 Cr domestic grossers.
Set to Beat 2.0 in India Too
Jailer 2 doesn’t look like it will stop at ₹500 Cr. With strong bookings for the second weekend, the film is set for a super-strong run, and it has every chance of beating 2.0’s ₹520 Cr India total as well.
₹625 Cr Worldwide
Worldwide, Jailer 2 has collected over ₹625 Cr in nine days. With 2.0’s all-time record of close to ₹700 Cr now within reach, the film is set to become Kollywood’s all-time industry hit.
