Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is racing through milestones. The film is set to cross ₹300 Cr gross worldwide today, on its third day. With that, it equals Coolie’s record as the fastest Tamil film to reach the ₹300 Cr mark.
₹300 Cr in Just 3 Days
- Day 1: ₹130 Cr
- Day 2: ₹87 Cr
- Day 3: ₹100 Cr+ (expected)
- Total: ₹310 Cr+ worldwide
After a record opening and a strong Day 2 hold, Saturday is set to take Jailer 2 past the ₹300 Cr mark.
Level With Coolie
Rajinikanth’s Coolie was the first Tamil film to reach ₹300 Cr in just 3 days. Jailer 2 now matches that record, and both of Kollywood’s fastest ₹300 Cr films belong to Rajinikanth.
Faster Than Leo, 2.0 and Jailer
Some of Kollywood’s biggest hits took a day longer. Vijay’s Leo, Rajinikanth’s 2.0 and Jailer all crossed ₹300 Cr on their fourth day.
Fastest to ₹300 Cr in Kollywood
- Coolie: 3 Days
- Jailer 2: 3 Days
- Leo: 4 Days
- 2.0: 4 Days
- Jailer: 4 Days
What makes Jailer 2’s run even stronger is the talk. Unlike some recent big openers, the film has positive reviews, which means the numbers can keep growing well beyond the first weekend.
Sunday and Dasara Next
Sunday is expected to be another big day, and the Dasara holidays follow right after. The ₹400 Cr mark could come within the first five days, and the ₹500 Cr first-week target looks well within reach.
Rajinikanth is once again setting the pace at the Tamil box office.
