Jailer 2 has officially entered the record books. In 18 days, the Rajinikanth film has collected ₹803 Cr gross worldwide, becoming the first film in Kollywood history to cross the ₹800 Cr mark.
Here’s the full breakdown of how the Superstar got there.
Jailer 2 18 Days Box Office Collections (Gross)
- Tamil Nadu: ₹208 Cr
- Telugu States: ₹94 Cr
- Karnataka: ₹92 Cr
- Kerala: ₹78 Cr
- Rest of India: ₹57 Cr
- All India: ₹529 Cr
- Overseas: ₹274 Cr ($29M, estimated)
- Worldwide Total: ₹803 Cr
Tamil Nadu Leads the Way
Tamil Nadu is the backbone of the run with ₹208 Cr gross. Jailer 2 is the first Rajinikanth film to cross ₹200 Cr in the state, and it is now chasing Ponniyin Selvan 1’s all-time record of around ₹230 Cr.
Massive Numbers Outside Tamil Nadu
What makes this run special is how strong the film has been outside its home state. Together, the other markets in India have brought in ₹321 Cr gross, more than Tamil Nadu on its own.
The Telugu states have contributed ₹94 Cr, and Karnataka is right behind with a huge ₹92 Cr. Kerala has added ₹78 Cr, while the Rest of India, including the Hindi markets, has brought in ₹57 Cr.
Karnataka’s number stands out. For a Tamil film to come this close to the Telugu states’ total there shows how big Rajinikanth’s pull is in the state.
No.1 in India
With ₹529 Cr gross in India, Jailer 2 is already the No.1 Tamil film in the country, ahead of Rajinikanth’s own 2.0.
Overseas Power
Overseas has played a huge role too. The film is estimated to have collected close to $29 million abroad, around ₹274 Cr, more than a third of its worldwide total. That includes a record run in Malaysia, where it is the biggest Tamil film ever and is now chasing the all-time record for any Indian film.
What’s Next
With the ₹800 Cr milestone crossed, the next target is ₹850 Cr. The Diwali holidays will give the film another push, but new releases like Ramayana and Scene will take away screens this week.
At 75, Rajinikanth has delivered the biggest box office run in Tamil cinema history, and every Kollywood record will now be measured against Jailer 2.
