Hanuman was released during Sankranthi 2024 and emerged as a sensational pan-India blockbuster, grossing around ₹295 crore worldwide. Director Prasanth Varma started its sequel, Jai Hanuman with great excitement, but the film is yet to start the shoot.

As said above, Hanu-Man became one of the biggest grossers in Tollywood and also set records as the highest-grossing film in the medium-budget category.

The film concluded with the announcement of its sequel, Jai Hanuman, which gave goosebumps to audiences. At the time, the team stated that the sequel would go on floors immediately. However, due to several reasons, director Prashanth Varma explored other projects in between, but none of them materialised.

Sadly, even after delivering such a massive blockbuster with Hanuman, it has been more than two years since a Prashanth Varma film went on sets.

Jai Hanuman was later announced with Rishabh Shetty in the lead, under Mythri Movie Makers’ production. The initial plan was to begin shooting in January 2026 and target a Sankranthi 2027 release. Now, January has already passed and Jai Hanuman’s shoot has not yet started. Reports suggest that discussions are still ongoing regarding production and financial matters.

With these delays, it now appears practically impossible for Jai Hanuman to release during Sankranthi 2027. Considering the scale of the project and the extensive post-production involved, the film is more likely to arrive in the second half of 2027 or face further delays if shooting does not commence soon.
