The team and makers hoped that the film would perform extraordinarily but it didn’t meet the expectations properly. Now, with no choice left, Indian 2 is preparing itself for an early OTT streaming.
Indian 2 digital rights were bought by leading OTT Giant, Netflix for a record price ever in Kollywood. The film was agreed to arrive after 6 – 8 weeks of its release on the OTT. But with the film getting failed at the box office, the OTT release will be a bit earlier than the fixed schedule. Now, according to the buzz, Indian 2 may stream from August 2nd week. The makers are hoping to have a better response from the audience atleast from the OTT release.
Indian 3’s fate now hangs in balance as the film needs to have a big hype before the release. But with Indian 2’s disastrous result, no one knows what would happen with Indian 3’s filming and release plan. Shankar said that Indian 3 would be releasing six months after Indian 2’s release. But he will move on to Game Changer starring Ram Charan first to have a relief and then concentrate on Indian 3.
