The yearly IMDB list of Top films and web series for the year 2022 has been revealed. Because of the perfectly entertaining films and larger-than-life concepts, the South films have dominated the list this year.
While the Bollywood film ‘The Kashmir Files’ was the only film on the list from the Hindi film industry. The film became much popular not only because of the controversy and political targeting around it but also because it moved the viewers by showing the terrible realities of the struggles faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s.
On Wednesday, IMDb published a list of the 10 most-watched Indian films in 2022. The top place in the list went to the much talked film this year. Ram Charan and JR NTR starer, the SS Rajamouli’s masterpiece ‘RRR’.
‘The Kashmir Files’, marking Anupam Kher, took the second place, and another Pan Indian blockbuster ‘KGF 2’, enacting Kannada actor Yash, placed in the third position.
Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Action extravaganza Vikram which was a massive blockbuster at the box office and an industry hit in Tamil, was positioned at the fourth spot.
IMDB, which receives beyond 200 million visitors each month, creates its ranking of the most well-liked films and web shows based on real page views.
The Bollywood industry has recently come under heavy criticism from the netizens who compare Hindi and South Indian films.
As if the box office results and the remarkable responses from the audience were not enough, the dominance of South Cinema over other language films in India has now been confirmed by IMDb’s latest list.
