iBomma Admin Arrested

The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have arrested the admin of the popular online movie piracy website iBomma. The accused, identified as Ravi Immadi, had not only caused massive financial losses to the film industry but had also openly challenged the police in the past.

Ravi was taken into custody at the Hyderabad airport soon after he arrived from abroad. Acting on precise information, the police detained him as soon as he landed. Officials revealed that they had been searching for him for the last six months. Currently, Ravi has been shifted to the Kukatpally Police Station for further investigation.

According to estimates, the operations of the iBomma website have caused losses of nearly ₹3,000 crore to the Indian film industry. The website illegally uploaded newly released OTT films as well as HD prints of movies still running in theatres, offering them for free and encouraging widespread piracy.

Concerned over the growing damage, industry leaders had approached the police, leading to several recent actions, including the arrest of the Movierulz operators. After those arrests, the police announced that iBomma operators would be nabbed soon as well.

In response, Ravi, the admin of iBomma, had openly threatened the police, claiming that if they targeted his website, he would expose personal secrets related to film industry members, police officials, and popular actors. His public challenge created a major stir at the time.

Taking his threats seriously, the police intensified their investigation. Once they received information about his arrival in Hyderabad, they immediately acted and arrested him at the airport.
