With the OTT era and the pan-India trend, the big stars have gone to a pan-India level, and the budgets and business have increased along with the heroes’ remuneration. Now, heroes’ remuneration drops, and stars are offering to work for less.
As said above, the remunerations increased for stars because of the pan-India trend. For big stars’ and directors’ movies, the market is still there, as they have not been greatly affected by the OTT decline.
The stars who have been mostly affected are younger heroes and a few tier 2 heroes. In the OTT era, the heroes raised their remuneration big time, and the producers also agreed to whatever the heroes wanted.
Change in the OTT Era leads to the decline in the Heroes’ Remunerations
But with the OTT rise, many heroes’ theatrical markets started to drop, and at the same time, they also failed to deliver good successes.
Lately, the OTT platforms have become very selective in choosing the films, and they are not offering huge deals like before. Because of this change, producers are unable to manage the budgets, and the businesses are dropping many films.
Even the heroes’ remuneration drops, and stars are offering to work for less because of the change in digital business. Reportedly, the stars have cut their remuneration and are encouraging the producers to proceed with the budgets.
A few heroes are even refusing the entire remuneration and are taking the remuneration from the movie’s business and profits.
This is definitely a good decision from Heroes, but they also need to choose good scripts and have to deliver good projects.
